Hows the snow in Nipawin?? Couple of buddies are makeing a trip up there in a couple of weeks. From regina just want to know how the snow is?

I was in nipawin over christmas and there was 2 to 3 feet of nice powder in many areas, but since then they got dumped on quite a bit more, so should be good riding

8 of us were there last week-end and rode Nipawin to Arborfield to Carrot River on Friday and then to Caribou Creek and back on Saturday. Sunday we rode over to Tobin lake and played in the powder. All trails were in excellent shape, especially the south trails from Zenon Park to the bush east of Arborfield.

2 feet of powder north of #55 HWY and more in the bush.

I understand that they had another 8" with the storm on Monday and I woudl guess it will take them a week or so to restore the trails due to the drifting and cold temps which will keep the groomers in the garage.

How's the snow there now? Me and a buddy are planning for a ride that way at the end of the month, but where is the best place to stay and do the trails leave right from town? Guys from my work are up there a lot for business, but never been that way for a sled tour.

Thanks for any help.

I am sure the snow will be just fine. I am sure it has rioughed up in the open but they groom a lot of open areas between towns to the south like Zenon Park and Carrot River so you can ride trails or cross country if you like.

We stayed at the Tobin Lake Motel in a room that has two double beds, a cot and a hideabed for $102. Double rooms are around $75 and they have a fenced and locked compound for your rig and sleds.

Also on the south end of town the Kingfisher Inn for the same money with restaurant and bar on premises and fuel next door and right across the street from the trails.

Download the maps from the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association web site and you will be good to go.
