All was well in the NEK till sat evening,..then some of the heavy travelled trails were looking like washboards,..the powerline north of the balls in particular,..but all of the back trails stayed almost perfect, again,...koodos to the groomers. I was ready to pack it up sunday morning, as I HATE riding on weekends, but my buddy eric got me on my sled, and we hammered a few 80-90 miles out pretty quick,,..and of coarse last night my neighbor showed up,..and,..well, we hammered another 70 miles. Groomers were out on force last night,. all but a 5 mile sectioj of the pwerline north of the balls was freshly groomed,. pipline,...groomed,..Lunenburg trails,..groomed..Maidstone,..groomed.Anyway, Im going to take a fewe days off from riding, cause Im sick of it ,...after superbowl when the patriots win,..Im back in action, for another whole week,....Met a few groomers yesterday, yes,..they do ride sleds on occasion. What a great week all in all,...someone slap me,...please...EDIT>>>>> My neighbor drives a 82 Phazer,.and I cannot believe how he rides that beast!! Couldnt loose him,...and I tried. Local talent fer`sure!!!

Today i did some of the easiest, flatest and nicest riding all weekend. 40 miles of nothing but hyway riding, to bad I had to get home to work or I'd still be there. All and all 320 miles for the weekend (- sunday) and a crappy satuday (lost the head light on the way back down the DC line) bad enough it was beat but take away your lights and it sucked.

Wow, I thought the 270 or so we put on this weekend was impressive. Had such a blast doing it too. Thanks to all at don's heating for their generous nature and putting up with a bunch of rouges like us. Great guideing and fun riding.

Hear you about the washboards, we ran into those in a big way saturday night. Actually, the ones I ran into sunday FINALLY dislodged the ice from my tunnel (about the size of two cinder blocks together). Bout darn time!

No, that would be the fellow I usually go riding with, crazy nut, he owns a firecat, but doesn't want to spend the money on the gas, but I guess, he is going to break it out, swung by yesterday to pick it up, been sitting in my yard all winter. Me, I've missed some good riding my clutch helix broke, and waiting for the part, better come by Thursday. Glad you had some good riding though. Where you the ones with a broken handle bar on the pipeline???? wacko.gif

Do you have any idea what is going on with grooming on the DC Line 102 from the outhouse EX60 to to the Island Pond and 98 trail. It appears they are only grooming it once a week if that. This used to be great all the time.

It was groomed sunday night for sure, we ripped down that trail to get to maidstone and it was fine. VAST jsut worked out a grooming contract from EX60 to the river, so maybe they included that with it. It was in good shape all last week as not many people know about it, most head up or down the powerline and never venture further east.

Well they sure did not groom it for last weekend as we went north 102 from concord Vt. both saturday and sunday and it was just a washboard,i know it was groomed sunday night however some-one said it was only getting groomed 1 a week as the weekend before it was the same way from ex60 to ex521.

The power lines from the outhouse (IE balls area) north to the Maidstone area were being groomed by the Thunderriders which I think is now defunct.

I rode the power lines from route 1 back to Madison branch area Mon night and it has NOT been groomed in a while. Route 1 was also not groomed.

I have been told there was a deal worked out for grooming but I have not seen the results yet.

Until they start grooming that area regularly I will stay away. Head to the pipeline an alternate way.

It was like a super highway Monday evening. Let's hope they keep after it.
