I went out to check the ice on the canal out of Bradford, there is alot of guys running it, and found about 4-5 inches of solid ice. At one point near one of the pump houses I found it was only about 3" thick, then some guys told me he was looking for his buddy who went throgh the ice. I followed him down canal road and stopped to offer some help, he was ok but couldn't reach the sled it was in too deep, the ice was about 2" thick at that point. I decided not to run the canal today but others told me it was ok out to Simcoe, if you run the canal, keep in the throttle and don't go any father than the marina/bridge, it seems the ice is thinner the farther in land you go.
It was an SRX.

I rode the canal from Soldiers Bay to Simcoe on Saturday, it seemed fine, some slushy spots but nothing too concerning.
Simcoe was fine, lots of huts and lots of sleds, the lake is even marked......I did not venture very far North on the lake though.
