Inquiring about what it takes to get alot softer valving for an XR 440. For me they're fine but my dads thinking about buying the 440 and the shocks are going to kill him for trail riding. How soft is the XR800 stack? How does the XR800 valving compare to standard ProX's?? He rides fairly aggressively, especially for an old guy. He wouldn't really be taking it off any jumps or anything however. Whats the most cost effective way to go about getting it changed? Send them to WE or go at them myself? Should I be able to do everything except recharging them?? I've never taken sled shocks apart before, but have done motox forks/shocks.

ya reavavling them is the way to go. ive done lots of them, many people right here from this site. the xr8 stack is pretty good but if you dad isnt jumping i may go a tad softer. also the relaoction mod will ehlp becasue it will be more consistend travel and not like nothing them hitting a rock like the stock possitioning of a prox suspension make it like. for vavling ya if you got the shim you can surrely do it yourself, if not there are many of us here that can do them. ill go down a few here for you.
