Basically I am looking for input? I currently ride a 2003 Prox440r and have been riding 440's for the last couple of years. I ride mainly ditches and power lines, with and low amount of trails. I am wondering how the Phazer would match up to the L/c 440's horsrpower wise the 440's trail converted are probably near the 90ish. I can top them out at 80 or so with stock gearing,

I test drove a Phazer on Friday morning and loved it. Thought it was one of the cleanest sleds I have been on. Please give me as much feed back as possible, I want to make the purchase before the weekend.

Thanks
John

It seems that alot of the problems that people are having with the 07's have been addressed on the 08's. The only thing that still seems to be a problem would be the ice build up because of the rear tunnel being open. The 07's have overheating problems and the rear link issue, both addressed with a fan and a different shock. I think that most of the issues are being fixed by yamaha on the 07's , but it means time you lose ride time while there being fixed.(Mine is in the shop now) If I had the chance I would purchase the 08 phazer over the 07. Good luck with the decision.

How about top speed, fuel economy, is the sled balanced, how is it in the ditches and in deep snow?

I currently ride a 2007 Phazer GT. If you are at going to pound the sled I highly reccomend the FX. I will likely be upgrading shocks all round at the end of the season as I seem to bottom out on the knarly whoops no matter how I set it up.
My Phazer currently has a cold air intake kit, 1.5" Camoplast Freeride, low snow idler kit, SLP SLT skis, FPS clutch kit, and is currenlty geared down 1 tooth on the drive.
With all the mods, I currently pull about 132 km/h (80 mph). Absolutely love it as it gets t 70 in a blink and has enough torque on the twisties to keep me grinning from ear to ear. With all the performance talk, I must also add that I have attained 25mpg (CDN) at reasonable trail speeds on multiple occasions.
Down low these four strokes are quite torquey. Proof...I can pull the ski's for the first 150ft from a stop and can still yank them at 30 km/h. Not bad for a 500.
I do find myself at times wanting a little more on the top, gearing I suppose would likely remedy that problem. Guess there is always the Nytro.
Hope this information helps your decisions.

I'm pretty sure everyone has had the ice buildup problem. I installed the cooling fan to help keep the ice off the rad and the kit for reducing ice buildup.I'm fourteen and i have no problem with it handling wise and the phazer is great in the deep stuff. I think you will be very happy with your purchase. I ride the gt and i noticed the suspension is a bit skimpy. Mabe the fx model would be a good choice.

Dont get me wrong the 07 fx is a fun and economical sled, not only to purchase but also at the pump. The ice build can be easly solved with a piece of aluminum or excell makes a pretty cool cover for the back tunnel. I lost a bolt on my rear shock that is being fixed. I believe it was stripped during production. Overall I like the phazer and if you can deal with the problems that may occur on a first year model you will be quite happy. Enjoy the new ride.....

If you can spend the extra ducketts grab a 08 Phazer RTX ,Its turnkey and go launch driveways as hard as you can. This is after you install the excell plate of course.
