All the planning and looking forward to it and it was not good, and home early.

Thursday night nice little cruz, trails where great, hit a corner and my buddy didnt make it, sled got beat up a bit, he got beat up a bit but all was ok. cruz back to camp hung out go to bed. next morning, my sled just didnt feel right, look threw it and find a broken arm in my drive clutch, and anyone with skidoo in rangeley knows there isnt any place close. i called everyplace withing 2 hours and no one had the parts, i even offered to pay extra if they would pull one off a used sled. well didnt happen, however, PJ's made a call and found one, but it didnt show up in time.
so friday night i hung out in my jammies and slippers drinkin beer watching the lake racers.

my buddy heads out, starts a run and a drunk guy cuts into him, sends him flyin, totals his sled, and busted my buddy upreal good. guy tried to take off, few other didnt let him thank god, then a young guy came and grabbed us and helped us out big time.

911, and got him to a hospital. he ended up having surgery yesterday to put a rod and plate in his leg!!

the ass that hit him didnt ask if he was ok, didnt say sorry, nothing, but he was grabbed for drinkin and driving and has a court date. i hope he gets it real good.

My buddy is hurtin still in the hopital out of comition for 4-6 months at least and this drunk dick doesnt say anything.

His brother was also shit faced, he stuck around drunk as a skunk we had no idea who he was but the nurse on the lake kept telling him to get lost, he was drunk etc he didnt, when the cops came and grabbed the kid they said they where looking for his brother, i asked the other kid.

are you his brother.

he said, no man, no, i was just here watching, no man, im real sorry im real sorry, but no man, no

i said, you sure?

no man, no, im not, i was just behind watching man, no man.

turns out mr.no man was his brother.

ASS HOLES!!!!!

and im 100% sure people on here know who this guy is, some one here knows him, and im sure of it, so i hope he gets his, and i hope he gets it good.

drunk ass hole has no issues, not hurt, and on a shit box sled with little damage, my buddy just messin around gets all busted up, broken and brused, sore all over, totals his mint newer sled because of some idiot!!! i hope he gets his for sure

you know, everyone does it, everyone "drinks and drives" at some time or another everyone has a beer or 2, no question about it, and IMO its not a big deal, have a beer or 2 with dinner, no issue, but running at 11 pm drunk as a skunk, slurring words etc, that ass needs to get his!!

hell, i had a few beers but didnt feel like sitting in the cabin anymore, i threw on my stuff no helmet and putted my girls sled out onto the lake. i made sure i had no helmet on and went 10-15 mph all the way to the side (no helmet meens in no way would i even try to race even if i did its so cold id make it to 20 and start to freeze)
but anyway, please becarefull out there, and watch all around you, and dont get shit faced and ride, stay home and get shit faced

F-7 Dude
It sucks man, sorry to hear that. Yesterday, almost got headoned by a kid on a old mach. Just to fast for the corners. What do you do, hope he learned something out of almost toasting me. LOL Hope your bud heals ok and still rides!!!!!!!!!!
NOYZEE
DM, it was Lou who got hit and is hurt.

yea, its one thing for some one to screw up or brain fart, thats somthing that could be forgivin, but shit faced, nope
Snakebit
That is why I stay the hell away from any place that will have more than the average number of sledders. Just asking for trouble IMO. I will never see a Snodeo.

And no, not everyone d&ds, even once. I have never and will never. Not even a beer at lunch.
J45p3r
Sorry to hear about your bud, hope he heals up quick.

You will NEVER EVER find me any where near Snodeo, hell, you'll be lucky to find me near Rangeley, period.
PIAZZA
Just want say thank you for all the people that helped us out and grabbed that MUT and held him there while he started to start his sled and get away after smashing into our buddy especially Derek the young gentlleman who did more than enuff to help us out.

Thanks again all who helped it means alot.

AMEN snake! ive NEVER done it either and never will. people will say were full of shit everyones done it, they just cant understand how some of us refuse to take the chance regardless of how small.
Exploder
Sorry you had a rough weekend. I've been to about 8 Snodeo's, but now I stay far away from there. Too many drunkin' idiots and just plan idiots. It's too bad that its getting a bad reputation. Itused to be a good family outing. Not any more.

Cravenfan
And that's why I won't go near that place for the Drunk-e-o weekend.

yea, derek was a great help. thanks to him, and the people in the other cabins, and the nurse in the other cabin.

for the non drinkers i will put it this wa. 99% of people have or will and i see that as being ok to a point, i dont say do it, but if you are, atleast use your head and know when to stop befor hoping on a sled, car etc.

anyway, the sno deo is a bussy place, its alot like the laconia bike week stuff. it used to be alot of fun, now its getting to be hell.

I still am a big fan of it and have great times, but the stupid people drinking themself to a drunken stuper should do it at there cabin and call it a night.
ODS Dan
I just hate how I was telling Lou about the accidents that happen every year.. The girls were talking about it for hours in our house etc...

Then they leave my house and 20 minutes later this shit.. unreal..... I saw him today on the way home, out if it on MEDS!!! but looks good... sled is a mess, but I think fixable.

We'll see what he wants to do, maybe in the spring or summer we can do an all day rebuild on it.

I think he just didn't want to race me anymore.. is what I told him at the hospital. lolol
what?trail?
sucks that had to happen.....i also wont go anywhere near town on snodeo weekend if i go up at all........liked it alot better before rangeley became grand central station

too crowded.....too many yahoo's....... reminds me of pittsburg now

hope your bud heals up quick, where was the drunken tard from?

hey noyzee hope your buddy heals up fast. i have been riding with a group of 7guys for about 10yrs and not one of us drink. have invited a bunch of other guys and when they find out that we don,t d@d it,s like they don,t want to ride with us. we ride just as fast as everyone and don,t want to worry about some drunk riding with us.
NOYZEE
Dan, glad you stopped by, he was out 99% of the time we where there, he was in an ass pile of pain when he woke up, sore all over from head to toe, big bruses etc etc.
sled looks to be in hard shape, needs a tunnel thats for sure.

skidew, i dont care if you drink or not, means nothing to me, i have a few friends that never drink, even at parties ect, but there just as much fun as everyone. and i retracted my statement about everyone, and said 99% of people do it, so for the few that dont, i took it back a while back. this isnt about who has a beer or two and who doesnt, its about getting wrecked and driving. but anyway, ride safe
SickNasty04F6
Thats too bad. It always happens to the innocent guy. Hope he recovers quickly!

We actually came upon another accident heading back in from bosebuck on saturday afternoon/evening. There was a red firecat and a green Zr that got together in a corner. Anyone know any details on this?
bgblock
sorry about your friend . Never rode all weekend took a ride in town it was a zoo .
some people never learn about the drink and drive thing .
that shit sure does put alot of stress on snodeo
My sled sat on the crane all day for sale not a bite guess i may have to reg and ride it .
I hope this doesnt change your rangeley experiance that could happen anywhere !
It is experiances like this that gives snowmobilers a bad rap .
this is why i choose to ride off trail in the woods away from the crowds
I prefer to be buried up to my bars with my buddies than going triple digits
we do bend up our sleds often but we have a blast and we bend them back .
I wish your buddie a speedy recovery and i hope you come back to rangeley
and have a good time .the people really bend over backwards for the snowmobilers
and the businesses really need and want your business.

thanks man, and no way does it change what we feel of rangeley, its one of our favorite places to ride, we will be back for sure!!! (my buddy has 4-6 months recovery so he probably wont be back for a while tho)

but yea, i love it up there, its perfect for what we like to do. we enjoy a nice lake race, we enjoy taking our girls on nice trail rides out to bose buck etc, and we enjoy jumping off the trail when its just the boys, and rangeley has all of the above with a great night life as well. just because a few bone heads during the crazy weekend wont sway us, will however make me react to the drunk ass holes running around tho, i'll be sure instead of saying, hey, be safe ect, i'll be grabin keys and shit for a few hours and hide them to give them time to clean up.
catbox
we rode over from west stewrtstown sat. it was crazy over there! but we expected it. saw an old red vmax stuffed hard into the trees on the way there. then we rode to eustis and made a loop back to nh. looks like there was a good turn out for the radar runs. not to mention the ''unofficial'' lake races!

that sucks your bud got taken out by some drunk clown. it seems like this shit will never end. its the same bs in nh.instead of hiding in the bushes 3/4 of the way down a long--safe and smooth straight and busting people for safely going over 45 mph........maybe these fish cops should set up camp 150 yards down the trail from the trailside bar and start working on the REAL problem.

I agree 100% on the fish cops, they would rather nab some one going 50 in a 45 then a drunken slob. i never understood that. its like on winni in the summer with the boats, they nabbed me last year for not being 100 feet from some one while going over headway speed. now im not a messuring stick, but i was atleast 80 feet and going the other direction so i know i was safe, but they got me anyway. meen while theres guys out in other parts of the lake leaving bars ect and they just watch the main area, its unreal. not to say that would prevent anything, but it sure would be smart. they may not get to hand out as many tickets, but they may help save a life
zula8er1
Thats sucks!! Hope your friend will be ok. This was the first Snodeo I have been to in 5 years. Went up on Sat. from the camp in Phillips up ITS 89 and almost got clipped on a corner three times. When will riders learn to stay to the right on corners! Hope your buddy recovers soon.
Yamark
I hope you buddy heals up 100%. Snowmobiling is dangerous enough without adding alcohol. Kudos to the people that helped you on the lake.
hickey's got a yami
im glad i saved my $$$$$$$$$$ and stayed home... sory to hear about the weekend guys. my brother said they had 10 crashes all week.

Remember that these warden's job is not to enforce yahoos on snowmobiles in general, they just don't have enough manpower or resources to be trail cops, it's unfortunate they can't concentrate on the real issues they are hired by the state for. If you ride in those crazy areas of the state (rangeley, for example) on weekends and during the night you're asking for problems plain and simple. Perhaps the area has plenty to offer for the "all around" rider, but you are putting yourself at risk by riding in those areas with other aggressive "yahoos".

you have that right!!! i wish we could thank them personally, but dont know them all and dont know who they where, but thanks for sure and my buddy is very thankful as well.

he accually just called me and is in alot of pain, but is doing well. he is a strong dude and for him to say he is hurting, i know its bad.

( just a side note, alot of people have buddies etc, but lou has been a friend for about 10 years so it is a little more close to home, and jay and lou have been friends for years as well so it was hard to see him the way he was, but im sure he will heal up and we will be rippin it again)

Sorry to hear about your friend, to bad that shit like this happens at every snodeo.

On friday around noon, we were coming back from bosebuck to rangeley on ITS 84 and saw a bad wreck coming out of the twistys near Lincoln Pond Rd. Looks like the guy missed a sharp left and drilled a tree, we saw him getting lifted on the rescue sled and it looked pretty morbid. Heard later on that he broke his pelvis and was still in bad shape. I dont know how it happened, but i guess it was a combination of speed and snow dust. Just hope that the guys alright.

We decided to leave on sat. night during the fireworks and went down to PJ's to fuel up the powerstroke. I was checking out the M1000 on the truck when a event coordinaters pulled up and asked us to shut down the spot light because there were two heli's coming in due to a head on collison somewhere on ITS 84. I guess both guys had to be med filghted out, don't know the details but didnt sound to good. Just have to hope that people ride safe and god bless the emergency response teams.

let me say this to what you said, im not a big fan of fish cops, if i was i would not call them fish cops, but 99% of people are not big fans of them for the simple fact that most fish cops would rather hand out 20 tickets in a high trafic area then catch a drunk on a sled. sad but true. i more then respect them, but at the same time i just dont see the good in some things they do. just like with the boats, they would rather sit in the bussy area and grab 5 people going over 5 mph within 100 feet then sit in a bar area and grab one drunk. i respect them but feel they should focus more on a drunk idiots, druged idiots, and stupid idiots then a loud canon a sled. the emergency guys/girls did a good job, they took a little longer then i thought they should, but being from the city i guess just about everything is a bit slow out side the city, but they did a good job getting everything safe, and getting my friend to the hospital safe etc etc, so we are thankful for that.

We saw the same accident. It was a black XC500. We saw the same group earlier in the day pulling the same sled out of a hairpin corner. The second time he his a huge boulder right where the road takes a sharp left and goes uphill in the woods of Lincoln pond road. Some people never learn.

Although it did not happen riding, three weeks ago I fell into a stairwell painting resulting in a separated ankle and broken leg. The only thing holding my ankle to my leg was the skin and my fibia suffered a torsional fracture. Had surgery three days later and things are now finally beginning to be tolerable. Like me, I am sure your pal will be on crutches and non-weight bearing for three months. I feel his pain literally. I hope they string the guy up who hit by his balls and beat him like a pinata.
NOYZEE
yup, thats what they saud, non weight and 4-6 months. and yes i also hope they nail the guy, esp with him having no remorse the next day he thinks he did nothing wrong, said it was an accident! yea it would be an accident if he wasnt shit faced
golfduke
saw teh vmax that was wrapped around a tree on our way to Ocquossoc. I knew there were going to be a lot of issues after seeing the 4 seasons- liquid lunches abound everyhwere. Some idiot almost threw his thundercat into a fence post showing off in the parking lot. After that, I'd had enough of that area for the weekend.

good luck to your buddy and hope he heals quick!
Webba
Noyzee I hope your freind gets better soon. At least he is alive. Could have definitely been worse. I have been through a tib/fib break in a motorcycle accident. Still have the rod in my left leg. It was almost 6 months from the time of the accident until I was crutch free and walking again. Is your buddy married or single? If he is single there is one bright side for him. Crutches are like a chick magnet for some reason. Dont know why but go to a bar with them and you will need to beat the women off with them!LOL grinning-smiley-023.gif

Thank you all for your help. We couldn't have done it with out you. That means you, Noyzee, Piazza, Sandra, San, and Derek, also the guys in Rangeley who were so quick to give a helping hand. We appreciate everyone wishing a fast recovery, don't worry, next year I'll be back faster than ever.
Thanks again,
Louie and Briana
