North Dakota HCS member nd_rice and I trailered to Warroad meeting up with another member feelthethunder and a couple of his friends in Kenora for a day of riding the lake. 334 miles for the day. If any of you get up that way be sure to ride the CanAm trail between the Northwest Angle and Falcon Lake...a REAL delight...not.

Cool video. That would be a fun ride.

What implications are there crossing the border? Did you have to check in with customs?

A number of years ago a group of us rode into Canada from north of Grand Marais. We all had to get what I believe was called a "remote access permit" at the time. We had to apply for it some time in advance and it allowed us to cross the border wherever we wanted and not have to check in to customs. Is there still such a thing?

Our point of entry into Canada was at Young's Bay where they have Remote Area US/Can Customs Phones...you just make a call before entering Canada and then again when you come back to the US....very easy and quick.

RABC permits are still available.

Ya it's pretty quick and easy IF they answer the phone. wink.gif Bring a pen and paper, they give you a 6 or 7 digit number you need to remember.

They haven't come and arrested you yet? yelrotflmao.gif

That was an isolated incident...the Warroad Customs office was having phone trouble that particular night when we tried reporting back into the US.

Interesting. So, what if you didn't call on your way back in?
