My 06 600 is a holdover I bought new last March the warranty runs out soon. I feel for you not a good time of year to sit and look at a blown sled. Our riding window grows smaller. Good Luck. wall.gif

This surely ends my riding season.
So far I will need:
-bore and re-build top end
-mag side reeds, and possibly reed cage
-throttle body boots
-upper and lower crank case halves
- hope the crankshaft survived
and after all that I still don't have a solid explanation as to why it burned up. I wish I would have found an air leak or something that was clearly the source of the failure.

DAMMMMMMMN!

Just blew mine up 2 weeks ago. Luckily mine still had the 3 year extended warranty on it so mostly covered. I had a little over 5000 miles on mine and the piston skirt let go and destroyed my motor. Your polaris dealer can get ahold of a new shortblock motor that costs around 3k but its brand new. Mine blew on a monday brought in that night and was completely done by thursday, got the motor in one day, might be your best bet for a quick turnaround.

Ughh!! That was about to happen to my buddy's Fusion but luckily he had his Y-pipe off and noticed his pistons were scored. Damn 900s! Too much vibration from the big pistons.

I feel your pain. Put a rod threw a cylinder on a 1000 cat engine years ago. A good shop can weld and clean up the case halves. Might save you some money. Good Luck.

Yikes! For that price, I would go talk to IndyDan. Look him up on here, Snowest, or on the net - Indy Specialties. He sells those bottom ends for about that kind of money with a 3 year warranty. The guy really knows his chit! I think that he even balances them (stock cranks) so that they do vibrate so bad. He has 2 or 3 different crank options from stock (I think) to full billet. He contends that the stock case sizing is suspect.

Call Pro5 in Mn 218-463-2149, very close to Polaris factory.
Last year Burt B. purchased 5 new left over 900 Polaris engines.
Pro5 has lots on new Polaris parts.
Good luck; Rich.

I just cant afford to do anything about my engine untill summer, so I will let her sit for now.
