Full Version: REAR SUSPENSION QUESTION

phazer
My front shock on my rear skid is about 1/4 in. away from the track wondering if that is the part breaking that everyone is talking about? If so is there a stronger part out there to put in or is the factory Yamaha one the only way to go? Also when I was riding I heard a pop noise at about 500 miles is there somthing on the phazer that shuts off or turns on after break-in at this milage because it seemed to have alittle more power after that.

the shock on mine rides real close to the track too but that sounds a little too close, inspect that coupler that holds the bottom of the shocks, my cousin has broke that coupler and his dealer installed all new billet aluminum hardware set in there its beautifull! The power boost you spoke of is real, mine did the same thing, I emailed yamaha and they said its normal, all it does is leans out the fuel mixture because after all the parts wear in they dont run so hot, there for, it can handle a hotter burning mix ratio, and puts out more power.
