What are the conditions up close to Cavalier or Walhalla. I am planning on a trip Tues and Wed this week coming up and I realize the weather is in question yet. Any updates would be appreciated.

Did this area get any new snow in the last couple days? Just wondering as here in Fargo we got SQUAT. It sucks and not sure how the heat affected the snow we have left but I am hoping to get out tomorrow and see what the snow is like. Thanks for any help as I am looking to make a day trip up north to the Drayton or Cavalier area next week.

3 of us dropped in Devils Lake last weekend and rode all the way up to Langdon on the trails.. not to bad and you can also find some areas that have good amount of snow off trail also. we are planning on going back this weekend also

Thanks for the update. I am planning on making a day trip from Fargo up there. Not sure how far to go before dropping off the trailer and heading out. Makes it nice to konw before we leave how far we are going before we get to the good snow. Thanks again.

I live in Cavalier.......trails aren't to bad these last couple of days but if you are crossing through feilds they are bald! Ditches aren't to bad either but i don't suggest going to walhalla through the ditches because of rocks and culverts......i found out the hard way

If we dropped at Drayton, could we make it to Walhalla on the trails without too much dirt? I am looking for a day trip and putting on a ton of miles. Just wondering as its been a while since I have been up there but the last time I was there it was mostly ditches and very quick riding.

Heading up Thursday. Not sure where we are dropping off, just know we are headed up there. Want to ride by the Gorge and some of the better trails south of Walhalla.

The trails were in GREAT shape. There are spots that just don't hold snow but for the most part the trails were in excelent shape. I heard that one of the groomers had broken down and so I'm guessing it will take longer for them to get everything groomed. There was fresh snow on the trails almost everywhere we went. We rode from Edinburg thru Milton, to Walhalla and then back down going south east of Walhalla. We had a great time, saw lots of deer and took some pictures. When I get them out of the camera, I will try and post a few. We are headed back up there on Friday next week to ride Friday and Saturday.

Was it mainly all trail riding...or was there places where you could dip off for some off trail fun?

Here are a few pics from the trip.
