I was going to ride with a friend but his sled died trau14.gif so I'm just going to go up to Hale and ride for the day. Anyone going to be riding in this area?

too bad I didn't see your post yesterday, wife and I rode to luzerne
today, trails were good until south branch warming hut, got worse
farther we went. trails were toasted near luzerne. I dont understand
why there was a good base there last weekend. they got snow, it
was cold and the base disappeared.

I wound up parking @ footsite & riding the loop up around Barton City/Glennie/Alcona Park and then going out around Sand Lake & back. I found some hills to climb about 4 miles west of Footsite up by the river. Trails were good except for a ways either side of Barton City where a lot of the turns were blown out...

P.S.-ever notice how that stretch of trail from S. Branch west through the Maltby Hills to the warming shack always seems to have more snow than any other trails in the area? It reminds me of the hills around Caberfae, west of Cadillac, the trails in those hills always have more snow than the surrounding area too.

We rode to Luzurne Saturday and i thought the trails were excellent until trail 969.

trail 96 and 9 were perfect 10's Saturday afternoon.

Here's the warmin' shack!!!
Pic's fresh from the camera this past weekend.

I haven't been there in years, cool pics. Did you climb the hills next the shack?

Rode there Sun night and Monday, went from Hale to Luzurne. Agreed that the trails sucked north of South Branch. Saw the groomer on Monday night, when it started to rain. Hopefully he got the majority of the trails for the cooling temps.
My hat's off for his hard work and all the guys (and girls) that work on these trails.
