Can you do the Black Fly loop in a day? I was thinking about starting in Rangeley.
Thanks

Trails were in great shape last weekend.

Rode some of it yesterday(sat. 27th) scenery is nice but trail, well all the trails were a bit hammered as its Rangeley Snowdeo weekend and on our ride we come across at least 8 or 9 groups of riders stopped at intersections and all were headed towards Rangeley- Otherwise if you ride at a normal pace its a great day ride with a lot of nice country to travel through.

I rode up to the snodeo yesterday and the trails up were the best ive ever seen...never hit a bump from front door to town. Way back wasnt much different, surprisingly. 10 miles outta rangeley was still flat as hell and we met the groomer in temple so it was super good from there. 125 miles of flat, good trails.

If your driving up for the day to do the loop you can save some miles and start down in phillips or in kingfield.

Save miles on the sleds or truck?

I have done it in a day, but I thought the southern part of the loop was poor, the trails get tighter down there, but then again it could have been the conditions that day, it was a few years back.

The truck. This year a friend and I have been driving shorter distance in the truck and longer on the sleds. It splits up these long trips nicely.
