Hiya folks!

I just bought a 1988 Polaris trail, and I would appreciate any info on it, specification wise, what I should expect, etc...
Also, do I have to go to the dealer for a new hydraulic brake line? It is worn through in one spot and clearly needs replacing.
Does someone re-pop the seat covers and tank covers?

Thanks, I look forward to all responses! grinning-smiley-023.gif

I might add, it is a fan cooled....is it a 500cc? Thanks again!

They are good sleds, I have a 92 Indy-Trail 488 Fan, they used that same motor up until 2000, then it was replaced with the 550 fan.
Here is the spec's for the 1988

I would really like to find the original colored seat if I can, so maybe a trip to the Polaris dealer is in order.

Any ideas on where to buy a brake line? Or should I just get one at the dealer?

I would get the brake line from a dealer as well. changing and bleeding the lines does not take that ong at all if all is in order on the braking system.

Dot 3 or 4 fluid for the brakes? Is there a bleeder screw on the caliper?
RatRod
had my seat re-done, makes the sled look much better

Dot 3 & yes a bleeder on the caliper
I have the same sled still kicking. Beat the crap out of it for years. A nice light machine for banging around. Does not want to quit.
It just turned 25,000 miles two weeks ago
