buddy of mine fried his top end on his 1995 ski-doo formula sl 500, i think he just blew the rings on one side, the right side has 100psi the left side shows 0 on the compression test...so before we tear it apart we wanted to know if there was anything specific we needed to know or if anyone has a assembly/disassembly write up or a site that has one, thanks!

Look on Ebay for the shop manual(CD). Be sure to rebuild both sides if you want long life.

If you've never done it before buy a shop manual, e-bay is a great place to find one. Don't cheap out on the rebuild unless you want to do it again, get the crank serviced and replace the crank seals. It took me many top end rebuilds(same motors) to learn that lesson in my younger years, now I won't touch a motor if the owner won't spend an extra $200.00 to do it right. 100 psi aint great for your good side, be prepared to go a size or two bigger with both sides. I've done lots of motors and I have the 95 service manual, send me a PM if you have any questions.
