very seriously considering an 08 dragon switchback. leaning towards the 600 from what i've read here. I've tried to research all the posts, but sure i've missed some. Has anyone actually ridden both and done a real comparison? I realize that they are geared down, so the mileage and the top end aren't there, but just looking for the actual difference between the two. thanks

If you look at polaris's web site and look at the parts section and then look at the chaincase's section, you will find that the dragon's are not geared any differant than the standard switchie, i think that there is a misleading comment from polaris going around that they are geared differant to make them sound like a hotter sled for selling purposes, ie MARKETING! I heard this a while back and looked into it and this is what i found! I would go for the 7 in a heart beat if i where me. cm2cw.

rode a 700 sb this weekend. Pretty sure i'd go with the 600, but still looking for more info on the two.

i took my 600 cfi switchy on a 300 mile tour this weekend and loved it. good on trail and good in powder. got about 95 miles to 34 liters of gas and 2 liters of oil for 180 miles. then again still not fully broke in yet. with the 300+ miles this weekend ive still only got about 450miles on the sled. i personaly dont know if i would need a 700 toped out on a lake at 91mph with out a great trail on the lake.
