Because of my Patriots being in the Superbowl this weekend I'm looking to ride close to home.Anybody ride Woodford last weekend?Need more snow?....Also my father would like to break-in his new Skidoo he purchased last weekend so snow coverage&cool temps would help!

I rode woodford on Friday, Sunday, and Monday. Monday was really the last good ride until more snow. After today's rain, I would expect that the trails will be closed.

WoW...............You had that much rain???? Whats the forecast for friday??

I'm not sure if we had "that" much rain or not, but considering the shape the trails were in on Monday, it wouldn't take much to result in a lot of bare hills and corners.

However, I did notice that at work (35 miles south of woodford) that it turned to snow in the early afternoon. If it turned sooner up there, I suppose there's a chance that we got just enough snowfall to help cover the bare spots on the trail.

I doubt I'll go out tonight, but tomorrow I'll try to at least let everybody know what we got for snow, if anything.

hey Jim.............Whats the forecast for tomorrow on the mountain? Rain or snow?

According to the Albany station, the whole area is set for sleet for most of the day, then turning to rain. He did say that multiple inches were possible in the 'daks, so I suppose there's a possibility of accumulation in Woodford, but I think I remember the high temperature being somewhere in the 40s, so it seems unlikely to me that we'll get too much.

We did get some snow at the tail end of yesterdays' rain. I can't tell how much because it drifted so badly, but just the fact that it was able to drift so much tells me that we may have gotten up to 2". The Snobusters website says that the trails are still open, and judging by the ride I took monday, they're probably still pretty smooth, though likely still bare on hills and corners.

Whats the word....Snow or rain? We were planning on coming up for the weekend but if its rain we'll stay home.

just got off the phone with a friend in Woodford. he said today they received an inch of snow but it turned to sleet. I think sleet is better for the trails than the freezing rain, so hopefully it continues or turns completely to snow. What a winter...

I heard the same thing, started off as snow then went to sleet supposed to go back to snow tonight....no rain. At least that's what they told me?

At this point, several inches of sleet would be great!!

Yep! I'm heading up! Hope it keeps sleeting or snowing and doesn't turn to rain tonight!

the trail were a tiny bit bumpy at 4:00 Sat afternoon, but all of the Woodford groomers headed out last night, so right now it's awesome up there! Lots of sticks and branches down from the freezing rain, but good snow. Some thin corners, but the groomers presumably took care of that.

Saturday was a little rough but not bad, Icy and a lot of little branches down. The ride up the mountain sat was interesting.......at least 2-3" of frozen snow/ice on the roads! We unloaded this morning at 6:30am! All the trails were groomed and beautiful!! If you can, get out tomorrow and ride .................there calling for rain Tues & wed! I don't think the trails will survive a big rainfall! Sat night we rode out of the Horizon inn up towards somerset reservoir.........trails were icy but in good condition any rain will definitely close those trails!
