What is a good set up for general trail riding, yet still get traction in powder? 1997 600 xlt x-tra12 I weigh about 175. 192 studs, everything stock. It rides nice on the hard pack now, hooks up good, corners well, but when I hit powder, it has no traction. Almost got stuck in a foot of powder going up a 6 foot incline. I changed the rfss to high and it made a little difference but not much. I'd like to get it to pull the skis up too. It feels like it almost wants to but not quite. I'm new at messing with suspension so give to me in simple terms biggrin.gif

The xtra12 cannot be made to lift the skis a great deal, because of it's rear to front coupling. You can shave the rrss blocks thinner. The poor deep snow operation is because of the steep track approach angle. The FRSS should be on the low position for deep snow. You need a deeper lug track, such as a 1.25" camoplast carve track.

yeah this suspension does dig good trenches though. Good for smoothing out bumps but bad for powder
