I love this site, very informative, so, I have volunteered to introduce some newbies to the joys of riding a snowmobile this coming Tuesday. They live in Belleville, so, I plan on being at the Mother-In-Law's (Kaladar) sunday night, ride monday - hopefully the circuit that I'll be taking these newbies riding - since times spent on recce is seldom wasted. Therefore, my question is one of convenience, does anyone know of a decent place to park the truck and trailer in Tweed that is close to the trail? I want to meet the couple someplace close to them and figured that if Tweed had the snow, that would be a good place for them to drive to meet me. My plan is to have them meet me at the Petro Can, I'll give them a brief overview of riding, law, etc, then outfit them, show them the sled, then ride. Is there any place close with access to the trail to accomplish this? Anyone have a better idea? Thanks in advance....wish me luck!!!!!

Scrimmer I know that if you drive into Madoc just pass Tweed. There use to be the Two Loons restuarant right on HWY 62 which has seen closed down and right next to it is the trail and a staging area for your trucks & trailers. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks, I know of the 2 Loons, but would prefer something closer to Tweed!!

Scrimmer, right accross the road from the Petro is the Stoco park. You are right on the rail bed there. Can't get any easier. Rail bed is about 300 yards north of the Petro Can and just south of the other gas station.
The run accross to marmora is straight and flat the whole way. You can then head south to Stirling and back around. Or head east and then North through Kaladar if you leave the other way

Thanks Kragar, I know the park well, wasn't sure if it was "legal" to access the trail from there.

Plan is to head west on E 108, then the E 106 around to Eldorado, E 212 back down to Madoc, then back on the E 108 to Tweed. I would love to do a loop to Stirling, since I used to live there, but wasn't sure if they would ever get snow ever again!!!!

They were riding in Stirling yesterday. I would imagine the stretch behind the primary school would be blown off as it usually is. Palmateer has everything real flat though.
I am in the Oak Hills.

Where abouts? I used to live near the Stirling Airport, on Flying Club Road. Haven't gone sledding in the area since I was a kid!!
