Hi, My father is having quite a bit of trouble with his Venture.. He is a diehard Yamaha fan, and he is considering a Bombi... wacko.gif

We went for a short ride last night, and his venture started puttering and backfiring 3 times. Twice while riding, then when he was waiting for me to get the sled in the garage. He called the dealer, and they said she is over-heating and the enging tries to shut itself down... We have lots of good snow for cooling. My Dragon never flinched. I dont know what the problem could be. If she is overheating now, she will never be anygood.. we dont get a lot of powder snow..

He is considering putting some kind of cooler in it, I dont know what exactly he is talking about, but it is avalilable through Yamaha.

If anyone has any suggestions or anything to say at all, please go ahead!

I put a rear heat exchanger on my Venture. It was a service bulletin that Yamaha put out. The exchanger was only 49 dollars in 2005 as part of the deal.It may be a lot more now but possibly if you have a good dealer he will take care of you. I assume you have had the other recall on the T.O.R.S. done. That will cause backfiring on quick accel and decell situations. If it is overheating your red triangle light will be on. I also cut out all my track windows and added clips to track to reduce drag and let more snow in.Then I put a set of Hyperfax on.It never overheats and rolls freely now. Also, don't let it sit and idle for a long time. It won't load up but it will overheat with extended idle time. Sounds like a lot ,but I hope some of it helps! It is a good sled if you get all the bugs worked out.
