Lacat,

I would enter Maine from Lac Magantic/Woburn area of Quebec into Coburn Gore/Eustis area of Maine. Get a three day pass for Maine, and then head northeast to Jackman, Greenville, Millonockett, Houlton, Fort Kent (at top of state), quick trip thru New Brunswick and back into Quebec. May total of 550 miles in Maine.
Maine does a good job grooming, but heavy traffic often results in rough trails by each afternoon. If it was me, I would stay in Quebec instead of dropping into Maine. Make sure you ride around the Lac St Jean area of Quebec, and the area south of the St Lawrence under Quebec City and easterly.

As stated before, Van Buren, Limestone, Caswell, Fort Kent, St. Agatha and most "county" town are groomed extremely nice every other night or so when theres enough snow, if you go out, try to head out early (7ish) and dont stop until 1:30 so you ride when everyones at lunch after that trails take a beating. But my crappy trails is still a Portlanders wonderful trails.

Any multi day trip is always better off when riding is done during the week. The groomers usually clean things up on Sunday, Monday night and then the trails see little traffic during the week as long as it is not a holiday. One more good snow storm and the trails should be good to go for a several hundred mile loop.

It's a nice ride. Be careful in the allegash area, no fuel. Fort Kent and east no problem. Some times the fuel in st agatha by the lakeview rest. is out, you can call the rest (nice place to eat with good view) and they will check for you. Riding south to st claire is fuel. Riding east as far south as Caribou/and east to Limestone and back north on 83 (the border trail) is a nice tour.
You will find very good conditions in the north county! Enjoy.

I would enter maine at coburn gore and come down into eustis, then head north up towards jackman/moosehead lake area. then over to millinocket. Good places to check out are grand falls north of eustis, Coburn mountain between the forks and jackman (there is a trail to the top-3750') Mt kinio in rockwood on moosehead lake, Baxter state park area north of millinocket. Then the awesome trails in the county! Have a good trip!

If you have the time to spare I would definitely spend a few days. Each area is its own and has lots to offer. Avoid going below the forks in the western mountains if you want to keep a steady pace, and then head east towards millonocket and from there head north and you will be in heaven. Go all the way up to the crown of the state and then jump back into canada. Plenty of miles to ride.

Leaving for Madawaska Tuesday Night. Will be at the Gateway Motel thru Monday riding into NB.
Will go as far south into Caribou/Washburn but staying on the north side of the river.
If you need a dealer call Ploude & Ploude in Caribou.
Enjoy, trails are 10+
