need help with uncles 488 fan it will climb to 7000 rpm right of the start then it seems when secondary starts to shift out rpms will drop to 5800 and not pull any more rpms or mph it will only hit about 60. i put new primary and secondary springs in it and the weights seem free and everything else looks good but still didn't help i got it out to a road that was plowed but still hard packed with snow and it finally pulled to 7000 after about a mile and hit 85 on the spedo its just fine for what his kids use it for but something is not right help

What year? Red/white primary and red secondary are the oem springs for late 80's 488's. Did you but the secondary spring in hole #2? 7000 rpm is correct and 85 indicated on a hardpack road is in the ballpark
all2fast4u
yes all oem springs but on a gromed hard packed trail it will barley hit 60 its like taking a 5 speed from 1st to 4th its bad

Again what year? Is the belt good? Be sure track has about 2 inchs of clearance from its own weight.
