We, meaning my wife, I and a few buds are sledding the weekend and wondered if some HCS'ers are gonna be riding too. would be nice to meet up along the way. We are leaving Moutain and heading north to MI. line and back. stopping at Popple River for those awesome bloody mary's. Anyone in?

I sure wish my trailing arm would come in cause i would definitely trail along. The Mountain area is where i usually do most of my sledding. Looks like i won't make it up there till the Chute Pond Fishorama Feb. 2nd.

Roy, change of plans for us. we are heading to the cabin later today so maybe we can hook up local somewhere Friday or Saturday. My in laws are coming so we will do a ride in the AM and get lunch and then we head back to cabin and drop off kids and mother in law and then we head back out for ride.

Scott, let us know if you stay at the casino, Patty and I can meet you guys there or stop by and we can hang out or get something to eat or whatever.

Hey bee. How are the trails out by you? My plan is to unload at tha Maplewood Shell Sat. morning. Head towards Oconto Falls, up to the Pound area. Then over towards Mountain, then back down again. Have a buddy along who hasn't ridden for years riding by older sled. Less open farm land north of GB, than south. I live on the SE side of DePere.

Chase is grooming - Trails are probably the best they have been in years - I couldnt imagine how they would bee without that one warm/rainy weekend
It just takes alot of snow and cold to smooth out those plowed farmer fields/ruts - Lot of them in this area/brown county-oconto county line - Wooded areas are sweet - Railroad grade is sweet/perfect

Anyways sounds like a good ride - Have fun
I would have rode more this week , but i dont enjoy the -15 temps anymore , early in the am before i would have to go to work at night outside at the airport

Trails are nice - Got in just under 100 this aft - Got up here late

Stayed on the LMT trails and 100 miler

Went from Carter to Roberts Lake to Pickeral Lake and rode that area for awhile - Pickeral trails

Some corners are getting icy , but the trails are fast and cold

Didnt see alot of sleds on the trails - However lots of trailers in the Casino parking lot

Sorry sled issues this time Patty's sled my father in law actually saw julie make the right turn off the rr tracks in Carter but she didn't see me wave about 1:30 ish we were heading to Gary to have him look at the sled, Patty drove the truck with the trailer and we met her up there. And first they thought they would look at it next week then Tim took it a part and found the throttle cable wasn't in the block right, he reran the cable and all better so we called Patty and had her bring back the trailer. So, after a long day of troubles we just got back from a short ride to check it out runs great but Patty and the kids sick!! Had a busy morning also had to get my dad's sled going and father in laws so that took my morning, never a dull moment!

Yes, riding tomorrow I'm guess back to Loana to Sam's Lake house for Pizza for lunch. Not an early start I'm guessing 10 ish, stop by the cabin in the AM if you are game. Hopefully after we bring the kids back after lunch should be heading out. Just sitting down to some Bday Cake for Patty belated but still good cake.

Saturday morn, met up with Bee and his wife for the first time ever! We rode north to laona, Cavour, then Popple River and back. It was a great ride. My wife and I got about 170 miles abd trails were very good, but alot of ice in corners!!!!!!!! I feel very fortunate to have met them, and all because of HCS!!!! We tend to chat with several people on here and think we know them some, but it's really nice to put a face to the person for sure. Scot led the trail ride, with a nice steady pace, and his little wife, Yes little like 5' tall and 100 pounds soaking wet, rode like the wind and on a crossfire too! We had a great day!
I hope to get the opportunity to ride with them again.

Yes those corners were getting scary - Kept looking back to make sure no one was off trail - The Crossfires hook good , but without studs and the front carbides on there last sliver
There were a few times , even going very very slow , ice ice ice - Was getting a little nervous leading up front waiting for that next sled around the corner
Trails were getting washed out bad later in the day


Anyways was a great ride and a great time

We wanted to stop at Mulligans for supper , but here i am at work 5am this morning - Sleep

We will get together soon and i will definetly let you know when were in the area again

Yes, sorry we missed you guys sounded like a great ride. we had a good lunch at Sam's again. And yes we need another group ride up there. Patty is starting to get better, Friday she was sleeping before the kids and got a little better Saturday but still draging.

Wish I would have read this earlier. I went up solo last weekend but met up with a couple neighbors. We rode up to crandon and stopped at coppertop for lunch. Then looped around to armstrong creek and back to lakewood for 150 miles. Sunday we did a nice little ride to pickeral, stopped at the shell gas station and restaraunt, then back home for 70 miles or so.

looked like a great ride guys! Here are some photos from our ride. The trails were great and I got some good points! Also got my dad out riding and he hasn't rode in two years took a while getting his sled started! And he was sore the next day his shoulder was in bad shape but he had fun and that is what counts!

And count us in for the next ride! And check out the sled hill my dad makes every year for the kids, he spends hours moving the snow over here and then the kids dig holes in it! Keeps them busy

Yes, thanks again John! That place is cool by the way! I may have to order the hat with the Patriot flags next time. And do they have the other stuff I didn't know you had such as cleaning stuff, have you used any other products from them! And it was great getting the stickers so I can label my gallon jugs instead of the sharpie!

Well the big question is

How much damage to the trails today and tomorrow with the warm weather and possible rain ???

They are saying snow tomorrow night - As in horizontal snow - So how will that stack up on the trails with 40 mph winds ???

Yes that is the huge question for sure. I just saw the weather that we could get a storm late tomorrow. I need to get out of Chicago early before that hits! Good thing I brought the extra sled home I may get to ride around town this weekend or at least take my son to a local lake and let him rip around on his for the day!

Hey ZRman, I'll be on a group ride up north. There is 16 of us. LOL We all ride together about 4 or5 times a year!!!!!!!! They don't ride as much as me, my 06 has more miles than their 02'sLOL but they are a fun group. Maybe next time up.

Laona area right now is getting crushed with snow! Within the last 2 hours I would say we have close to 4 inches and it is still whiteout conditions. Never did get the rain in this area other than a light drizzle last night. Trails should be premo after the below zero stuff we have coming in. I will be out there for sure this weekend.

Hi Craig good to see you hear! I was at your shop over the weekend and Tim you dad saved the weekend for us! They do great and fast work!

It just changed over to snow here I was driving home from south side of Chicago and wow the roads got bad fast!

I would say we have a total of 7-8 inches of snow. wind right now is incredible. Everything is completely drifted in around here. Nasty! -5 with a 40 mph wind spells danger. Frank, glad to hear the guys could help you out! I was out fishing last weekend so only got to ride a little Friday night. Hope to go on a nice ride this weekend though.

Our snow petered out at about 4 inches, wind came with about 35mph and it sucks! It's -22 right now and about 20mph winds, well on the positve side? The trails will have a great base. LOL
