Hello all, I'm looking for where the borders of each club begins and ends. Or what length of each trail section is who's responsibility. Just trying to decipher the MSR trail listings.

Thanks

Al.

Thats a good point to bring to the attention of the OFSC when it comes to standardizing there maps in the future. They are pretty close to all showing the same detail with the exception of a few.

I would like to see each map with a border showing the overlap from District to District instead of just an open arrow. The smaller local maps show the clubs trails maintained by different colours. The large district maps could box in each clubs territory as long as it does not make the map to busy to read.

Which ones exactly are you looking for??

Lots of guys from that area on here as well as several club members. If you are more specific I am sure we can get you an answer.

The OFSC doesn't have anything to do with the trail guide layout. Its the district that do it. It would be just one more job for some unpaid person to do. Although it would be nice to know what district you are in.

Good choice! They are a very hard working club. HGR is NOT a member of the MSR - even though they are in the middle of it.

Here is where I understand them to stop grooming.

They groom the 50 series trails (50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56). Here are their club limits as I understand them:

South East - They groom the D102B and the D103B south almost to Baysville. They stop at the T intersection (outhouse) where D102B heads east and D103B heads south (just north of hwy #117).

North East - They groom the D102B until the trail begins to follow the road that takes you into Deerhurst.

South West - They groom the D trail south from Port Sydney until the southern junction with trail #37.

North West - I believe they groom the D trail from Port Sydney north until the northern juntion with trail #37. (not 100% sure on this).

I believe it is the Muskoka Sno-Bombers club that groom trail #37.

Here is a PDF of the MSR map and a link to the HGR site.

Thats awesome! Perfect. Thank you very much Red Rocket and Yukon Cornelious thats exactly what I was looking for. Now we just need some more input to see where the rest of clubs groom. I have the trail map out and am hi-lighting each club.

The STP & NNTA maps do not have a "common" point where their trails meet. There's a "missing" 50 miles on TOP D between Sudbury & North Bay.

Also, some of the problems w/ planning a Longlac to Hearst trip would be fixed if the Corridor map didn't go just west of Hearst & say 100 miles to Hornepayne (or whatever they have).

When you look at your MSR map you will see the Trail numbers. The numbers correspond to the individual Clubs in the District, Algonquin SC trails are the 7 series, Tall Pines is the 6 series. The boundaries of the clubs are not outlined but the trail numbers will give you an idea of where each club grooms.

Thanks, I assumed that was the case. I was just wondering if anyone know exactly where each club groomed to. Thanks Yukon C for your pm if ever I ride in the Bala are I'll know who does what, but I never ride their. I mostly ride in the HGR and surrounding ares, and not much further.
