Western half of Pembina County...see my videos from posts of last Saturday and Sunday rides. You'll need to stay in the denser shelterbelts (which there are a lot of) to find good riding....anything out in the open is no good.

I concur with rws. That goes for the southern valley, too. There is decent snow along the rivers and streams in the sheltered areas. In my riding last weekend I found the snow to be a lot better than I thought it would have been after the blowing and cold temps.
If you want to ride trails, I noticed the trails in Richland County were groomed last night (maybe finishing today?). The trail east of Horace into MN to Sabin was actually pretty decent last Saturday and I am assuming they have/will groom again this week. No update to the trail conditions page on www.claytrails.org yet. The trails north of Fargo were groomed before last weekend, and I doubt they got much traffic, due to the cold temps. For ND trail conditions you can check out www.snowmobilend.org The only problem is they oftentimes update the page with what they think they are going to do, not what is done. So, sometimes the reports are pretty unhelpful. Ex: on Jan 17 for the southern valley it said they will groom when the wind dies down. The wind died down on Friday night and the trail didn't get groomed until 5 nights later (last night). Most of the time it's pretty decent, though. A lot better than nothing.

I agree with JDZ, the closer to the shelter belts you can stay the better off your gonna be. I am also looking for reports from up by Langdon and Cavalier. I am looking to take a trip north of Fargo. Might even venture to Bemidji or International Falls. I was in the groomer last Friday when the loop north of Mapelton and Casselton was groomed and I was supprised at how the snow held thru the warm temps in early Jan. The north south ditches took it the hardest but there is suprisingly good snow on most of the trail.
Have to venture out on my next days off and see how the trails are doing, THINK SNOW for this weekend.
