well i've jetted down from 320's to 300's and dropped the needle on slot and it's still a little rich on the low end even in the sub zero temps the past couple of days. what have you guys found works on the flatslides? drop the need to the very top notch?

Stock pipes - I ran 300's, no change in the needle position with a gutted airbox and it ran crisp. You got the air and fuel screws adjusted correctly?

i have the white plastic knobs (idle mix. i think?) out 1 1/2 turns and the air fuel out 1 1/2 turns. also stock pipes, gutted air box, and boysen reeds.

dropped the needles down to the lowest they can go and it's finally cleaning up. got about 11 mpg trail riding at 30 F. i'm thinking it'll be even better at colder temps

Dropping the needle that far is playing with fire. it is a well know fact around here that the timing curve cause a real lean spot at part throttle. Be very careful!!!! IMO

02's were the leanest running thundercats from the factory. You may want to check your piston wash at different rpm intervals to verify your jetting.

My 01 is jetted with 360 mains and the needles droped one. with BM Pipes, V-force 2's, D&D power breather, BM Mono Block head. Had 340 mains with out the pipes and it was just a tad rich. She is dead nutz with the 360's and the pipes. Sometimes you think you're running rich but actually it's the other way around.

everything seems fine. i can finally get a nice brown plug reading and wash seems fine. low end is cleaned up and not gargling. i think when it gets colder i will raise the needle, but at 30 it was nice. ran a 300 mile trail weekend at mostly 1/4 to 1/2 throttle with no problems.

????? wow ??? needles dropped all the way. So you moved your C clips all the way up to the top?
