I'm thinking about getting a v-nose enclosed trailer. Has anyone recently compared a Sno Pro to a Proline? By looking at some pics on the internet both look to be good quality trailers but unfortunately I have never seen either brand up close. Any opinions or comments?
Terry
I recomend Dyer's Docking systems Avalanch V Nose.
They seem better built from floor material and under frame to 1x2 in roof.

I would have bought one but my business is not doing to well this year.

I looked at them brands also and went with a BLIZZARD trailer. Got it at the the tilton trailer outlet. They guy there will tell you the differnce. I love the thing. Good quality.

I have a Pro-Line and have it setup to haul 3 Harley Touring bikes or 2 sleds.
Trailer is GREAT !

x2 on the Blizzard. You will notice a difference with the higher end trailers especially the roof truss systems or lack of. If your still shoping check the Blizzard. They are also price competative with Proline and SnoPro. I am on my second one (becuase I needed a bigger one) and no complaints. The company is also great to do business with if you want to go straight to Blizzard and buy direct. They will custom build any size length and/or hieght you want and many options. Michele at Blizzard is great to work with or you can try the local dealer in Tilton.

I live in a preety snowy area and I alittle concerned about the snowload on the roof when I'm not around to tend to it and shovel it off. What's the roof made like on your Proline? Do you know how it compares to the other brands?

What size is your trailer and do you know if it will handle 2-touring machines with 136 tracks?

I heard that sno-pro was sold about 3 years ago or so to a Swiss company I think. They supposedly took out a lot of the material in the frame that made it weaker but they upped the price. I have heard that the Blizzard is a really good traler. My buddy bought one.

I might be selling mine which is an ATC- Aluminum Trailer Company. It is a really good trailer. Great quality. It had a great structure and frame. Has finished interior and ceiling with 4' cabinet, extra interior lights, 2 roof vents, side door, spring assist on all doors. It was made 6'6" inside height, and it is a 3-4 place trailer. Has 15" aluminum wheels and is a charcoal grey in color. It is a 2005 trailer so fairly new. I need to get a bigger trailer. I need to carrry 5 sleds sometimes.

Hi,

I will be selling a four place Sno Pro 2003 (if I ever decide on a price). Fully finished inside, rear loading lights, two 4' cabinets, interior mounted spare. I bought it for ~9250. Seems like a good trailer though I have never owned any other enclosed trailer to compare. I use it more for a four place garage than for much towing. Think I towed a whopping 15 miles this year but all works well.

The Toolman
check out renegade by rance aluminum well built with trusses and led troubleshooting for wiring.

I saw this one here, dont know if you are interested, but it looks like an alright Deal. heres the link

If you are concerned with snow load go with the Renegade by Rance. They have an excellent truss system, the best I have looked at. In my opinion the Renegade is the best trailer on the market but you are going to pay a premium for them. See Bob at Rochester Sports Center.
ct_skidoo2
I had a Renegade before the Blizzard I bought. It was built as good as the Blizzard IMO - some truss roof design too. Can't go wrong with either but the Renegade is (or at least was last I inquired) more expensive.
renegade18
significantly more I believe. The Blizzard is a nice trailer and not that expensive. The truss system on the Renegade is better though.
MXZX5
Can't beat the quality of the blizzard. The roof is framed better than all others and the walls are finished for a standard equipment. Also the door locks are the best, instead of having the two bars that swing open, you have one big handle made out of stainless that clamps the doors shut. I looked at all the trailers out there before deciding and got the blizzard. You can't go wrong with them I promise you. Go see Joe at the Trailer outlet in Tilton, NH great guy to deal with. Tell him Joe and John DiRuzza sent you from SnoWorx racing, He'll treat you right.

Mine is 14' along the straight section and about 4 1/2 feet more for the V-nose.
It is the SNO 714 model
I bought my in the Fall of 2006 with a few extras added on.
6'-6" inside height, Alum. rims, bar lock on side door & a spare.
One of the features I liked about it was the FULL front door to walk/drive out of.
Like I said I use this for my bikes also and can just drive right thru without
worring about wacking my head.
http://www.nhtrailers.com

As for snow load ... Like how much ?
Mine just had 2 feet of wet HEAVY snow on it without a problem.
I use a house roof snow rake to take mine off when I use it.
I can take some inside pic's on Friday of the roof & walls and post it here if ya want.
Pulls like a dream and more than happy with it.

Sno Pro sold out to Thule a few years ago, but Sno Pro recently bought the trailer line back.

The company I work for makes aluminum extrusions, and we make the raw extrusion for Sno Pro, Blizzard, and Dyers Docking Systems (Sled Dock). They are all great companies...

Thanks Rob and everyone else for your replys.

I guess our weather is similar to yours. We've had about 7-8 feet of cumulative snowfall so far this season. And we've had some rain along with that as well.

Sounds like the Renegage and Blizzard trailers have better roof systems, but unfortunately I'm pretty tight with the cash and I'm not currently considering trailers selling at higher cost at this point.

I got a good price on both a SnoPro and a Proline so that's the two that I'm considering at this point. Thanks for all the pics you guys have posted so far. Feel free to post more!

Anyway, got to go gas up the snowblower. We're expecting another 10-12 inches today ylsuper.gif

Sorry I can't offer more on those two trailers. Mason Trailers comes to our show and they sell ATC trailers. Last time I priced one it was cheaper than Renegade, and I felt very well built.
cathog
i have a two year old thule snopro and the trailer is very nice excluding the bolt on hardware, it tends to rust and look like crap even after i always spray it with WD40. when shopping i also talked to the boys in tilton about blizzard trailers and they had warned me about this, wish i had went with them.
BigGuyNH
Hello,

I actually have a two place ProLine for sale now. The roof is really good. If you order the plastic roof. The benefit is that if you let the snow pile up (like I did to about 15 inches) and then it rains, and freezes, all you have to do is sweep off what you can and then get in the trailer, use your elbow, and push up. Something you cannot do with an aluminum roof. Tom ,the guy who owns Proline told me to do this, and it works very well. Just to let you know, it is the exact same material that UPS uses on their trucks. If you know anything about them, you know it has to be good. It is well built, and sturdy, and also lets in more light so you can see what you are doing.

I contacted them and got a qoute. Thanks.

Thanks for the pics. You got a nice trailer there. I like the plastic roof feature. Unfortunately, I considering 7 foot staggered trailers right now. I think it might be a little easier for me to tow.

kgb
If your looking for Quality look at the Floe gull wing enclosed trailers, i have a 4-place bought new in 03, it pulls like a 2-place clam shell and is very stable at high speeds, they incorporate a 'safety' support which folds down from the ceiling for heavy snow loads. This trailer is by far the best trailer i have owned and is constructed very well, but they are expensive! Good luck.

I have the proline 712 model and it has the staggered postioning that your talking about. It tows really well and the ramps and side dorr work really well. I have to say having the plastic roof is really nice cuase of the light it lets in and like someone else said its a breeze to clean off when there is snow on top, just push up on the plastic and the snow beaks up and when towing falls off. I've been on the top of my roof to shovel it off once, I stood on the roof supports and it held me up. Hope this helpfull, very nice trailer and if you need bigger the 714 model comes with two axles plus electric brakes. good luck

Here are the pic's I promissed.
BTW .... wall channels are 16" on center and the roof ones (side to side) are 24" center to center.
I also put a 3/8" sheet of plywood over the original floor (weather sealed original floor 1st).
I also added a couple of more sets of LED strips, amber running & turn signal (all sets) on side top
and v-nose top on both sides. On the rear I put one on each side up top (red) that also
are Running & turn signal

There was many things I looked for when I got my new trailer , I looked at almost every brend and I mean every brand. I had a 3 year old Haulmark that was a pile of chit , had holes right threw the skin from corosion between the steel frame and aluminum skin and EVERY screw that held the skin on ! Bilizzard and triton made good products but I wasnt going to buy a trailer that has screws holding the skin to the frame EVER again ! Best welds and frame , Worthington . Most metal in the structure , worthington (poss not as good of truss system as other but good). look for small thing when your shoping ,EX what did they do where the steel axel meets the aluminum frame , worthington uses a plastic shim , any used tar paper. All the door hardware on worthington trailers is aluminum inclueding HUGE door hinges that are welded to each piece with a stainless bolt as a pin. Door locking hardware is stainless , thats now 3 years old and has zero rust.. 7' wide in line is much nicer to tow and I will never go back to a 102" wide trailer for sleds . Compare weights my 3 place 18' worthingtom empty was 2200lbs without the inside finshed. I can put 3 - 136 sleds inside . It's exactly what I wanted and have zero resurvations on telling any one to buy one !
kz650b2
Thanks again everyone for the pics. I'm narrowed down to the dual axle 7x14 Snowpro or Proline. I'm surprised to learn that the Snopro roof members are on 24" centre. I thought they would be 16". Although I understand that they are tied together with 1"x1" members running front to back. Does anyone know the spacing of the roof memebrs on the Snopro?

I'm also surprised to learn that the hardware on the Snopro is corroding after a short period of time. I figured for 7000 bucks, you'd get hardware that would not corrode.

Have a four place sno pro and it is one hell of a trailer. 5 years without a problem and it tows like a dream. It may also be worth looking at Mission Trailers. Same as the sno pro but less money.

I recently bought the Proline from NHTrailers.com. I toured the facility before I purchased and was very impressed with the quality of the materials and the construction. Compare their welds to others-no comparison. I love this trailer. It trailers great. Very roomy inside. Transluscent roof is a major plus. Front access doors are huge and make attaching bars very easy. Plus, the owner Tom is a great guy. Customer service was great. They custom build each one for your needs and they're ready in about 2 weeks. I've owned 5 different trailers and this is by far my favorite.

I agree. I have a 7x14 with the same translucent roof and it has been great. They are great people to deal with and I'd buy from them again. Looking on their web site I see the prices have gone up for the products. Must be because of the high prices for materials these days. Glad I bought mine when I did.

Thanks for the feed back on the Snopro 7x14. I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I'm very pleased with it. Quality is very good.

I am sure you will be very happy with your choice , Its a great quality built product! Take some time and get under it NOW that its clean and warm and put a good thick coat of rubber under coating on ALL the steel/black parts. Years from now you will will be thankfull you did. I waited 2 winter to paint the axles and brake drums , it took 2 hours to get the brake drums rust free and dont forget the neverseize on the lugs !
