Anyone have any good tips on getting my sled set up for me.

I'm not very big <6' and @ 180 lbs.

When the trail gets a little bumpy and/or with small moguls the backend bucks like crazy. Any other sled I've ridden when it got rough it got better the faster I ran but, with the way my sled is now I'd be ejected.

Also the front feels very tippy in tight woods/corners. I am pretty sure I need a lot more ski pressure, I really notice it at the gas station, it absolutely will not turn on concrete/ice. I checked the carbides and they look very good.

Any pointers would be great.

My previous sled was an 02 Edge 700 and I also put over a 1000 miles on an 06 600 Switchback, that I was able to fly down the trails in total control and fell in 1luvu.gif with the IQ suspension.

P.S. The owners manual is not very helpful

not a coupled rear skid will always buck, ride is only as good as your shocks quality

Try sucking up the limiter strap, soften up the rear springs to medium or less and soften the coil spring (the front shock spring on the skid frame). The sled should lower 2-4 inches when you stand on it. Also keep the front end on the soft side. You only need to keep the supension stiff enough to not bottom out. My 07 SB was way to stiff from the dealer.

Good Luck!

The uncoupled rear suspension is not very smooth on the trails when compared to other models. I tried numerous adjustments with the stock equipment with very little success. I weigh 40 more pounds than you and decided to have my shocks revalved and purchased 4 stiffer springs. I did improve the ride slightly but the degree of improvement wasn’t worth the expense. The best advice I have short of a new rear suspension is to sit or stand as far forward as possible through the bumps to reduce the bronco affect. On the plus side, I feel the suspension handles well through the bumps and it does keep me in control. It’s just not smooth.

I don’t have the steering problem that you do and feel the ski pressure is just right. Shortening the limiter strap should fix that problem for you as long as you don’t mind the increased steering effort. It’s easy to change so it doesn’t hurt to try.

Good luck and let me know if you find something that works.

Hopefully it warms up enough this weekend to make some changes.

Thanks guys

Put the limit strap in the higher position and the difference is like night and day. Was able to run pretty good with over 300 miles this weekend.

I put the Rider Select in the 6th position and basically rode right on the gas tank. Knees are really sore but it handled a lot better.

Couldn't keep up to mid-90's Indy Trails in the rougher stuff, though. Not what this sled was made for I guess. Bucking Bronco problem might never be solved.

Hopefully can continue to make the ride overall better. This owners manual has very little help to some I've seen in the past.

Don't know which shocks you have, but I liked the Ryde FX clickers that I had on my '04 VE, and the WE clickers on my '04 Pro-X2 over the standard shocks I have on my '08 600RMK. Can't wait to put clicker shocks on it too, soon I hope. I get the bucking feeling on the back end with the Ryde AFX shock in the rear, it just doesn't have the rebound control that higher quality clicker shocks have. You can make these sleds ride very smoothly with the right shock package.

Ya I had a chance to get the shock upgrade when I ordered the sled. Was thinking at the time I wouldn't get the extra money back when I sold it.

Wish I had some extra cash it would be very interesting to see how this sled would respond to some top end shocks.
