I have a legend Cx and love it. Been playing around with gps maps for a year now and I can find my way around very well.

I friend of mine was given a GPSmap 76. It has a base map, which is better than nothing (almost), but he needed snowmobile trails. I downloaded the Michigan and Wisconsin trails from gpssledmaps.com (cool site), but they won't show up at any zoom level unless I go into the map setup and turn off the base map. Kind of defeats the purpose of being on the trail and seeing where you are. I thought that the trail maps from gpssledmaps overlayed the basemap and were transparent.

what am I doing wrong?

My fault. Download it again and it should work. The WI map should have been okay (are you sure it wasn't showing up?), but the MI map wasn't transparent, so I just fixed it.

I went in the menu and unclicked the Michigan trail map and the entire base map shows up now. So the Wisconsin trail maps are transparent. For some reason, the fact that the Mi maps weren't was making the base map for the whole USA dissappear.

I'll re-download the michigan map tonight and check it out.
