The best way to discribe how they sound......I think everyone knows what a diesel sounds like with a 5" exhaust and bouncing off the rev limiter. Same sound with an SLP muffler.

i put the slp silencer on my 06 fst classic its alot deeper of a sound than stock performance wise the throttle response is better but no faster than stock (i have a stock sled to compare it to) i like the sound much better it responds more like a 2 stroke machine now i still need to get the 08 updates so that may give me a little more in the top end i guess i will find out

some of the early ones were having trouble with a weld breaking inside and a baffle falling down and partially blocking the exhaust hole.

I have an early SLP silencer on my 07 FST. Mine did not break apart internally. SLP did recall all mufflers to be re-welded. It took about 7-10 days to get it back to the dealer. If the internal core breaks loose it will block the exhaust flow and overheat. Could even melt the side panel of the cowl. The polaris dealer had one that broke apart and made a mess of the side panel. There was no charge from dealer for all work performed. Sound is a very deep rumble. The two stroke guys know I am at there heels just burping the gas alittle. WOT it seems to quiet down as you get into the upper rpms. It is suppose to meet wisconsin's new sound laws. Have been through a DNR sound testing area with the 2007 SLP silencer on my 06 fusion 600. They did not even flinch as I drove by. They were holding the receiver and pointing it at the sleds driving on the trail going up a hill. U had to be in the throttle to get up the hill. Will have to take the FST to this area and see what happens. The DNR has been in this same area(whitewater lake) 2 or 3 times this season.

Has anyone tried one of the Skinz or MBRP? If so how are they holding up and sound? And do you like it?

the sled was sitting on the floor of my garage with no stand...and it had 00000 miles on it.
when you do rev it up on a stand all you really hear over the exhaust is track noise....but when you fly by people they jump out of the way real fast
