I need help transfering waypoints, routes and tracks from mapsource to my 60 Csx. I am able to transfer maps fine but the routes, waypoints and tracks do not show up even though they are checked marked to transfer. What am I doing wrong?

They are probably there. Try hitting the menu button when you are displaying the map.

Select setup map.
Hit menu button again and then select restore all map settings.

There are several settings on map setup where your waypoints will not show up until you are zoomed in quite a bit.

To see tracks. page to the main menu,
select tracks.
scroll to the saved track you want to have visible and then click on SHOW ON MAP checkbox.
then page back to the map, and make sure you scroll to the area where the track is located.

There are some other settings that may determine when tracks and waypoints are visible.
but, it's kind of hard to list them all.

(For example, you may have to turn off decluttering)


Chances are your tracks and waypoints are there, you just need to make them visible.

If you are trying to get waypoints that were put into mapsource by an other GPS, OR ones that you made in mapsource, you have to open them before you can upload them to your 60csx

Go to the menu, File--Open, and the directory that Mapsource was installed in should come up. One of the files should be called waypoints.GDB Open that one, they will show in the left hand window, and then you can upload them to your 60csx. I haven't done tracks, but it should be the same.

Thanks for the information. I tried all the stuff that was mentioned and still could not find the routes, tracks or waypoints on the gps unit. I called Garmin's tech support and they walked me right through it. Just for everybodies information the tech told me that you should not use the USB mass storage in the interface setup menu as they show in the manual. Instead he showed me how to do it by just plugging in the unit to the USB and transfering the files without it in USB mass storage mode. This worked right away after I did this. Thanks
