The Vast sites are all doom and gloom. Then I read on HCS about riders putting on 100's of miles?? Obviously we took a big hit last week as far as snow melt, but what's the bottom line? I am heading to Irasburg tis coming Thursday, it sounds like a ride to IP might be the prudent play any local reports from the area would be great along with snow predictions for the next few days. As an example my brothers went to Peru yesterday from Conn. to pick up a new trailer from http://www.brownenterprises.net in Lodonderry around Bromley Mtn, they did not bother bringing the sleds, there was 15" of snow there! There was a lot of bare spots but if you picked the right trails you could get some miles in.

The VAST site is correct. The state is truly "green" right now except for a few places. We need another two feet of snow to get us back to where we were. Weather is only predicting a few inches.

i would not recomend any riding as this snow fall was a joke we got maybe 6 inches of snow fall on the top of the mountain not nearly enough unless you want to kill your sled and becareful listening to twin brook's if you call they have been known to exagerate the condition's to get your bussiness as of this morning i still see some green in my yard

Got a whole 2" in Adams, would have been better off with no snow and cold weather for a few day's. I agree, don't look for a good trail report from Twin Brooks, I have been been on the bad end of one before!

Irasburg is unridable. If you want to ride right now, go to Canada.

Just got back from Shawinigan and the trails are in great shape. Look up Gerard at Motel Safari. Great guy and great place to ride out of. Most of Quebec is spotty now too, but I can tell you first hand, Shawinigan is where it is at right now.

I'm curious how conditions are there also. We have a 4 day trip planned on 1/28, staying at Holiday Inn/Saguenay. We went same time last year because you could'nt ride anywhere around here yet. All I can say is, sooo worth the 8 hour drive. Here's a couple pics from Jan '07

By far best riding we've done. It was like your own winter wonderland with not a sled in sight. And the accommodations were very nice at the Holiday Inn.If you want to get some serious miles on your sled, that's the way to go. UNBELIEVABLE! m2c.gif .

Those pictures suck! Of course that's only because I'm not in them! :-)
