Talked to the guy's at the lodge and there is about 18'' of snow sooooo not what it usually is.There is a poker derby tomorrow so the trails in and out of the park should be really chewed-up.Heading up next weekend and snow is forecast for next wed-fri,hope they get 2 feet.Seem's to be a little better towards SanClair.

hey moto-ski - how was the riding at the Duck and surrounding trails this past weekend - thinking about booking a room and taking the misses for some riding. Wondering if you made it to Child's lake or where exactly did you go? If anyone else has been or has any idea on the trails, would appreciate knowing. thanks in advance

over christmas break the trails around childs sucked. not only that but the gas was way overpriced and the service was lacking. i knew there was a reason i stopped riding the south end of the ducks

I was up last week,,,,,everything from the fields to the trails absolutly SUCKED! 2 weeks previous was unreal powder.

Ha Gitterdone, been busy sorry for not replying. The weekend was bitterly cold with low snow everywhere.-36 and 50MPH= cold.Had to be careful in pastures and cutlines. It was a little better towards SanClair but not that great either. They need more snow, but still better than down south. There was even less on the way to Swan.Hope this storm drops some snow in the area.As for SnoPro's comments that problem at Childs is what made us move to Madge 10 years ago. What is the accomadations at wellman like??

my comment is gonna be kind of biased but here it is.
gas was 10 cents cheaper at wellman when i filled up at 930am. got to childs around 3 after playing around for a while on the hydrolines and ditches. gas was 115 at childs. was this special gas???? hahaha no just regular unleaded. and the service at childs is well lacking or was that day. it wasnt busy so that isnt an excuse.

ive heard that a dog with a ball can keep itself entertained in the childs lake cabins as the ball likes to roll from one side to the other with no help.

The north side of the ducks just got a good storm yesterday so im assuming the riding will be back to normal. im just waiting till i go back for reading week so i can rip it up a bit.

Good to hear that they got a good blast of snow through there. To bad about the cabins as they were nice unit's years ago except for the little one on the end that was dragged out of the bush and painted!!!

thinkin of heading up there this weekend. What are the conditions like? When will it be groomed next? Are there any/have there been any big rallys that have made everything rough? Is there much powder?

thanks!

Foot of fresh snow over this past week. Signage is still up in the park, not going west. LOTS of riding left here.
