What is your prediction for the Monday/Tuesday storm potential? Also do you do a forcast for the Vermont area or just the Connecticut area?

I see you worked last night. Did your schedule change again, or are you just filling in after the past few weeks?

Okay folks.......I wish I was excited about Mon-Tue for VT......but maybe 6" in Southern Areas????? That's about it.....It is looking like a Central-Southern New England event and especially Eastern Areas. Could be another "Boston Bomb". I do like the temperature trend with much colder weather for the entire week. Also, There could be some big. snow late next week THU-FRI-ish.
Please keep checking on the Monday event....I wish I had more confidence....I am about 60% for Monday due to models flip-flopping.
We need some 1' storms and I don't see that Monday. Hope this makes sense! -Gil
PS...Thanks for asking my views mxzwild!

I think the temps are going to be borderline for us in the I-95 Coridor. Besides, ground is warm. Maybe a sloppy wet snow that sticks to the trees, power lines.

Thanks Gil, I was afraid of that report, but we do need to freeze things up again and drain some of this damn standing water before the ground gets covered. Hopefully Thursday/Friday pans out.

Accoustics in winter are different than summer. There is no noise dampening effects of leaves, and the denser colder air makes sound waves travel slower. If there is a temperature inversion (colder ground air and warmer air above) the sound waves can bounce off the warmer air and refract downward, making the sound last longer. Anyone living near an airport in a cold winter climate knows that rumbling sound that seems to last forever.

this bolt was within a mile, the rumbling was instant, and then 2-3 seconds later it just felt like a shockwave blasted off
it wasnt like the summer bolts that the hairs stand up on your head and the instant firecracker thunder that you hear.

Folks...there has been a major shift in the projected storm track. This change would favor 10" + the Southern 1/3 of VT and tapering down to about 6" NW VT. It looks like a quick hitter later Sunday and Gone Monday midday.

Hey Gil, the shift the models took on this one looks great.....but tease us with the 18th storm - that one looks very interesting.

Gil,.. are you weighing in on any particular model more than another?? Just curious if your a GFS, NOGAPS, or Jap, or Euro kinda guy, or do you 'blend' them all together??

Each one is scenario dependant! I have been screwed by every one of them. Heck... still look at the NGM!

What about the clipper that was heading this way, did that slow down or change direction. I also read Henery Margusity's weather blog on Accuweather and if I understood it correctly the clipper was the reason it was staying off the coast because it was going to push it that way. I read his blog today before I read this one but he still thinks it will be mostly in souther new england. Hope you are right, I would like to see 6-8" instead of 1-3".
