I have a 99 ZL 600 that is not listed as part of the recall, and my spider blew apart last year.
I was lucky that it happened while I was accelerating from a road crossing. Fragmented spider luckily didn't damage anything else except the primary clutch, and I ended up replacing the primary. 10 minutes before that we were cruising across a reservoir at 80+ mph.

ACman,
Exact same thing happened to me last year while riding my wifes 99 zl600efi. Took off after a road crossing and bang. Had to be towed by a buddy on a Poo. What made it worse (other then the fact that it was my wifes sled) was that 3 days earlier I blew the track out from under my 99 tcat while racing across a lake at 120+ and had to be towed off the lake by another friend on a Poo. Certainly made for a bad week and talk about getting my chops busted for a while. I thought I read somewhere though that certain VIN range zl600's were on the recall list but not all. My wifes of course was not.

the recall involves the clutch cover, not the spider....
