Click to view attachmenti have a 96 mach 1 and I'm thinking of putting an sc suspension, I was told by some I have to put new plates on the back and drill holes and some say I don't. Anyone have any ideas I like the machine but thesuspension I have kills my back and would the sc 10 make that much of a difference. Thanks much.

You need to change the rear suspension brackets with a newer model. You can use them out of a 97 mach z or 97 Mach 1. The front hole will stay the same but you will need to measure off a sled that came with an sc10 for the rear holes. If you need the measurements I can give them to you i have a 97 MXZ in my garage,.

If your going to all the trouble of changing rear suspensions, install a FAST M-10. We put one in my buddies sled in one evening and it's the best suspension I've ever ridden.

M-10 is nice, but they are $1000.

Thanks for the info I have found them cheaper but it's a decision to put more money into a 12 year old sled or by a newer one with better suspension will the m 10 or sc 10 make that much of a difference.

The SC-10 is a pretty good suspension but they tend to try and kick you off the sled. I corrected that problem by installing a AD Boivin ETS kit, it couples the front and rear arms. I would suggest you try riding a sled with a SC-10 to see if you think it rides any better.

I did the sc10 on mine and love it here are some pics

then the front with 1.5 inch longer shocks

If you like the Mach you will love it after the change over and the brackets in the read need to be changed . Same hole distance as sc 7

I swapped an SC10-III into my 95 Formula Z, its the best thing I ever did for that sled. All I did was move my rear brackets forward, I didnt change them with different ones.

will an sc 10 111 or 11 mount the same as an sc 10 I'm still looking

The rear mount on an SC10-III uses a different bolt than the C7 does. SC10-III are 12mm bolts, the C7 uses 10mm. Get grade 8.8 bolts. The front mount can reuse the C7 bolt as you will use the shaft out of the front of the C7 to mount the SC10.
Everything else is the same. I used 24" center to center.

That was for the SC10-III by the way.
