I will be heading to ny to visit and go sledding there for the first time I have sledded mosty norththern wi and western up of mi. I am not familiar with ny. Need some advice as to where to go would prefer something centrally located. suggestions on accommodations/ hotels motels or lodge no cabins. sled rental suggestions. and any first time riding must do's. I am only going to sled for 2 or 2 1/2 days. Would appreciate any info .

from upstate origionally, nice riding in chautauqua lake and that area, but if you have the time a don't mind a little extra driving, I would recommend Speculator area, great trails, great job grooming, good snow (except for right now). Lodging/meals at the Melody Inn (pricey but nice) and good meals at the Adirondack grill - north on 30. Pretty sure Village Rentals has sleds to rent as well. check www.ilsnow.com for more details

really a nicer area and less hectic than Tug Hill, and probably cheaper than Old Forge.
