well it is the first week in january so how many miles does everyone have? i just surpassed the 1,000 mile mark tonight! i am at 1,000.3 miles exactly. most i ever did was 1400, and that was 2 years ago. should have no problem blowing that out of the water. my goal was to do 2000, but i may have to up that a bit. most mine are in fond du lac and sheboygan counties, with about 285 up in the U.P.
Octane
About 187 for me. I would probably have 400 by now, but I had to work and couldnt stay up north for the whole X-mas/New Year's holiday, so I missed out on a lot of riding.
Hopefully the weather cooperates and I will be able to go up to the Minocqua area every other weekend all winter long like I usually do. If that happens and I managed to ride at least 200 miles per weekend, I should be able to get 1,000 miles this winter easily.
If I can manage to ride 1,000 miles a year, I consider that to be a pretty good winter.
northtwin

450 miles.

With age comes more responsibility for work and family...and less time for riding. But I've enjoyed every mile this year and hope to break 1000 for the season.

330, all way down south in Walworth Cty. Most miles since 1999.
bussman
Just over 500 in McHenry (IL), Walworth, and Rock counties.
Jeff_G
I've got a little under 500, I almost never ride before New Years so it's a good start. Most miles I ever put on in Wisconsin, most of my miles are in Minnesota.

2,000 is a good year for me.

Was in Southern Cal for the Rose Bowl parade last week so I missed out on some good riding. Returned home to *40 temps and rain. Pulled out my rear shocks to get rebuilt, seeing as theres not much riding to be had for the next few days...

YamaBert
767 miles......many in Washington county but most in central/northern Wisconsin between Wi Rapids and Tomahawk. Next trip is to the UP since that will be the only place to go for a while. Probably going to be a zoo up there but oh well.

I hear ya about the zoo part now that every one's local snow is now shot. Sure glad we have had our reservations set for a while now because I'll bet they are starting to become hard to get. Going to be a nut house up there next week! Oh well just slow down as all!
zipit55
about 400 in 2 weekend trips. spending too much time getting my friends ski doo and polaris running to get on the damn trails. almost all night riding. and i'll be damned, no speeding tickets yet.

well just thought i would bring this one back.

how many miles did you end up with?
any major problems?
what was your favorite ride or trail?

for me i ended with 2016 miles for the year. not one major problem with the sled, i didn;t even fall off once this year! my favorite ride for sure was the white pine to copper harbor back to white pine run that me and some other HCSers did! 325 in one day was a blast!
Sledboy482
Well, my wife ended up with around 800 on hers. I ended up with around 900 on my sled and another 600 on my work sled. Has been a fun winter, and now we are both ready for some cycle touring and camping trips!!

Not enough - Went alot , but just didnt rack up the big mile days or trips , with a winter like this , should have been 4-5000 miles
But not complaining - Spent alot less time trailering , that was sweet , rode from the house alot or close - Awesome year

My wifes Crossfire 600 - DD Gearbox blew a seal - Caught it right away before anything major - Fixed it midweek , and was lucky to find parts locally , so no downtime
Sleds ran awesome otherwise

January 1st trip - Ishpeming MI / Big Bay MI / Marquette MI - 12" to 15" some places 24" of fresh snow on the perfect trails , some not groomed yet - Everyone was heading home from Christmas week and we just arrived to this

Honestly WOW what a blast

I did 3300 miles total. That's the most I have ever done in a year.
And that was my favorite trail ride of the year too!!!!
Now boondocking, that's another story. The boondocking in the Porkies was awsome this year. The best riding I have EVER done.
Trailboss77
Never did get a chance to ride this winter but ended up grooming somewhere around 3000 miles again. As for break downs, we had 3 axles break on two different machines. BIG delay in getting parts. Hopefully getting a new machine next fall.
