Hi All,
Well just got back from West Yellowstone and when we returned, well, we should have stayed here!
The trip was fine. a bit on the cold side 0 to 4 above, lots of wind 40 to 50 mph at times, snow storms and all the powder that you can handle. off trails are a long tracks dream! 9 FEET in some spots. As we left, there were rescue workers in the southern parts looking for missing people who went off trail to ride. Saw lots of King cats and Dragons out there. Put in over 300 miles. Here are some pics. I'll get more on later.
These pictures are from the route to Two Top. It was impossible to find our way to it because of all the blowing. I heard that some people who had rented sleds and had never been on them before got stuck up there and someone who was out riding back country found them and brought them down. That would have been a cold night!

The next day brought clear skies but bitter cold temps and still lots of wind in open spaces and some of the greatest trails I've ever been on. Powder coming up over the hood at times in the mountians. This was the trip to Island Park, Id. Gotta give the wife credit where credit is due. She kept up with me on the cold days and didn't complain or whine! and the FST's did everything I asked of them and they did it giving plenty of power when I needed it.

No. You made the right choice. As good as it is (or was) out there in our snow, it will never compare to the beauty of Yellowstone.
I'm very happy for you and your wife for getting to enjoy something like that!

Here are some pics of the drive..
The terrain begins to change in South Dakota and the road slowly begins to climb to an altiude of 7500 Ft. then you drop down to W. Yellowstone's altitude of 6600 ft..
The pictures are the route from S.Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and hwy 191 from Bozeman to W. Yelowstone. The canyon route on 191 was the coldest....MINUS 18 F as shown by the truck's outside air temp gauge.
Sorry...I just noticed that the pics are out of order...

No we didn't go that route but you are right it is a great route!...it was prtty cold so we rode around the Cheveron area then we went back. The funny thing is, practically anywhere you go, it's great adventure

LOL!
Not with these short tracks!....I did try to jump off trail and within 100 feet of the trail, I sunk and got stuck for a short time.
If I had a long track, I would have in a second!
