Man am I geeked! My friend (Chris) and I decided to go up to the Buffalo Run Trail system tomorrow. And.........we are bringing our 6 and 7 year old daughters. This should be interesting since neither of us have ridden the Buffalo and this will be the first time our daughters have been on trails let alone extended periods of saddle time. I hope it turns out to be a good learning experience with many positive encounters for all of us. We'll see. We will probably stage at the speedway area and are expecting to get there somewhere between noon and 1 or so. If anyone wants to join us your welcome to. My cell is 317-710-4396. Wish us luck and if you see us then please stop and say hey! I'd like to meet some more Hoosier sled freaks.
Safe riding sled freaks!

Mike,
I'll probably be on the trails tomorrow with my son, but I'm not sure of the times yet. If I'm near the speedway around noon I'll swing over. What color vehicle are you driving?

I would love to hit the B Run trail but I gotta wait for the papers for my sled so it's legal. Hopefully I'll meet up with some of you guys when I get up there

. Guess I'll just continue riding around N.E. Marshall, S.E. St. Joe Counties in the mean time

Sa-weet! I am going tomorrow too. You see my sled in the avatar. I don't know if I will find you guys but have fun. Muskiedoo, I will give you a call in the morning sometime to see if you want to meet up at some time. I will probably be parking at the speedway or race track(whatever that is). White '06 GMC 2500HD with black pipe rack and J.R. Lazaro Builders logo on side. You see the sled and I will be wearing a Yellow coat with a solid red helmet. I probably will not be at the trail until about 1pm. See you all there.
Is the trail still in good shape for tomorrow?
Has it been groomed any?

Wait for papers??? All you need is a bill of sale dated.... You have 31 days to get it registered.. I believe you just need to carry the Bill of sale with you.... That is what I read on the DNR site.... You can also register on line these days and print off a copy......

Well we all made it home safely! The girls were wore out and I think the dad's were too. I had an absolute blast! Got to meet "need4speed255" and his buddy "Ferrari". I also was able to chat with Tony (lakeeffectsledhead) on the phone a bit too. He got us pointed in the right direction. Thanks man! I appreciate it! Missed ya Mark! Hopefully we can all join up and have a ride together someday. This was my first time on Indiana trails and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed. Trails were marked very well. the grooming was real good and the people I met were very friendly and kind. Started out going south of the Speedway. by the time we covered that stretch of trail we we hungry so we went to Crumbstown Tavern per Tony's advice and it hit the spot. After dinner we headed north and got up to Snow Lovers Loop. Rode the loop and headed back to the Speedway to load up. We put a total of 55 miles on the sleds and grinned every mile of it. We will be back so if you want to ride then give me a shout. Again, great trails!

Sorry I missed you. I rode by myself in the morning and then went home to get my son out. I thought we could get back to the speedway in time, but the wife had a few things whe wanted me to get done. I figured I better get em done since I have been getting alot of time on the sled without any problems. Don't want to rock the boat so early in the season.

Mark (zee ell),
No problemo man, I understand completely what you are saying with the honey-doo list and all. I've been checking things off my own list but not as fast as the wife can add to it thou. LOL! Anyway, we'll have opportunities to ride again. I'll post here again next time I get plans to play in the snow up there.
ZLZEBUB,
Great! You now have my number so give me a shout. I'll ride!

Mark,
Nice to finally meet! I saw you this morning too as our group was heading the opposite way (just south of SR2).
Mike,
I stopped at the speedway on my way home from work yesterday (about 545) and saw your White suburban parked there. Figured you were still out having fun. I live right by the snow lovers loop, so I run around there all the time.
Got in 100 miles yesterday and 60 today. As of right now the trails look pretty much shot. It's 40 out and the snow is melting pretty fast.
Till the next snow...

I'll second that on the trail being shot. It's amazing how fast 2 feet of snow can go. I got in 120 yesterday and 50 today and the last 20 today was nothing but slush/mud.

I got my first chance yesterday to ride on an Indiana trail and I have to say that I was also very impressed. The snow and trail condition were deteriating quick but we were still able to get in a 75 mile ride. I just wanted to give all the people on here that put their time into keeping up the trail a pat on the back. You guys do a great job and give all of us a great place to ride. Thanks Steve

Yes, I agree with Steve. To all involved with the Indiana trail system, a BIG "Thank You" for your efforts in making the Indiana trail systems what they are. The little trail that I saw and rode on was fantastic. Thumbs up!
