My brother bought an 05 Z and when he lets it idle, it fouls a plug. Is there a reason why it does this? If he lets it warm up it fouls a plug. He got it stuck today and when he was pulling it out, he fouled another one. Can anyone hep us out? Thanks

You will likely get more answers over on Dootalk, but here are some questions:

Are you running the 07 ECU Map?
Are you running BR8ECS plugs?
Is the idle set to 2200 RPM?
Are you running BRP Semi Oil?
Is your belt deflection set properly?

Your dealer should be able to help -- plus you should be able to get a history of what updates it has had.

Everything he said and how many miles? The raves may need cleaning and adjutment, also check the rave cables. I run br8es, they are 1/3 the price.

I had the same problem last week.

Took it to the dealer and he told me it's a common problem.

I was running the factory plugs and he said they had a tec advisor and I should be running a hotter plug ie 8 not a 9. (wish they would of sent me a letter to let me know)

They told me not to let it idle. I asked him how long is to long because I like to let the sled warm up.

His reply was start the sled. Put your helmit on and "GO"

He also said the computor will dump more fuel in untill its warm so you won't blow the eng.

Truth or Bull Sh&t I'm not sure.

Ask you dealer and let me know what he says.

Cheers!

Your dealer techs are stupid. Cold Nik-a-sil cylinders with increasingly warming pistons is very bad. Can you say cold seizure? If you can't get it to idle and keep plugs in it, then take it to a different dealer cuz they don't have a clue. My 05 had the same issues after 1500 miles. It took my dealer 2 years to get it figured out cuz i had the only mach. We learned together and now they are mach experts! good luck. Bill

As of today my 07 does the same thing, let it idle for a minute cold and she fouls a plug. everyone says its common.

I'm over 2000 mi on mine and have put 900 some on this year and let it idle for a good while a few times, never fouled a plug with it yet and running AMSOIL Interceptor Synthetic and the BR9ECS plugs...(Thinkin' of switchin' to the AMSOIL Dominator Synthetic, just personal preference) Best thing I can say is to take it in and make sure all the updates and reflashes have been done on it, make sure it ain't set for high alt. from the last owner. Or like one of the others said...it may just need a good cleaning also. Good luck with it! It's a sweet ride.

I ALSO RUN AMSOIL INTERCEPTER IN MY 06, JUST DID A VALVE SERVICE TO MINE AND THEY WERNT TO BAD, BUT I HAVE FOULED PLUGS IN THE PAST. AND WONDERED IF IT WAS THE OIL DONT KNOW. IT STILL RUNS STRONG AND I THINK A LITTLE RICH IS BETTER THEN A LITTLE LEAN..AFTER ALL PLUGS ARE CHEAPER THE A MOTOR..
THANKS NEWBE TO THIS FORUM
mach???
My 05 only fouled a few plugs. When i first got it i would start it up let run for seconds then shut it off. If i did it 3 or 4 times in a row the plugs were done. I let mine warm up all the time never had a plug foul. Now with 07 map i can start it up and stop it as many times as i want and never fouled a plug yet!!!!! But i'm sure it's only a matter of time.

check to make sure your throttle body blades are synchronized . Most of them are not. This will usually cure your plug fouling problems along with the other fixes mentioned on this topic.
