Short ride yesterday, 5 of us and a few problems. One touring sled with 2 on it overheated on a slow, packed down trail, so we waited for a bit and moved on,..gassed up in lancaster and went around the closed section of the pipeline, up a class three to the pipeline (still in the lower section its very muddy in spots, went up to my back seat in mud and water in one spot),..then up to EX 64 and an attempt to get into Guildhall. These trails (F102 and trails surrounding Maidstone were just recently groomed for thr first time as a logging operation has up till now prevented the clubs from grooming) and have some rocks, water holes etc in them, but mostly good. Todays fresh snow will help a whole lot!! Then we went south onto 96 where Eric shredded a belt. After getting all of the fibers and junk out of everywhere we moved on to the ballls, where Kevin and his wife decided to head back. We went with them and returned to the camp around 3pm for shishkabobs. Kevin came back to tell me he blew a hole in the top of the chaincase cover somewhere on the return trip, he made it but it was a good thing we didnt decide to go to Pub outback, I doubt we would have made it. Didint those 2005 XC600s have an issue with a lower sprocket bolt on the chain?? anyways,..a fresh 5-6 this morning, and another 6-12 for tuesday night,...then much colder,...looking great!!! Oh,.. grooming is badly needed on the heavier travelled rails, whoops are common on the powerline now and need to be flattened. Lots of sleds the past few days, I expect it will calm down here soon.

We rode yesterday and headed out on 122 which other then a couple small mud holes early on this was some of the best riding in VT I have done in while. We got on 16 towards Craftsbury and Hardwick, then we hit the trail to the overlook(ton of snow) and back up 51 back Wheelock....great ride. Oh yeah and it snowing like it means it right now!

The 98 & 102 trails west and north of Maidstone Lake to Stone Dam have been groomed in the past 24 hours. Unfortunately, there's 6+" of fresh snow on the smooth trails.
