party.gif The B2B is getting old. I would like to see it tweeked a little. Make a destination, have the weekend to do it. Go at a more leisure pace, and do a return trip in a weekend, everyone responsible for thier own lodging, where ever they choose along the way, and when they want to call it quits for the day they can. They just get to the destination spot, grab there cards or whatever, head home. Now to just try and put something together, and stay in state or go out of state, for the destination spot. Some place where a return trip can be done in a weekend, with lodging in between. Total trip from start to finish 5-600 miles.. Not so much a race, but more of an ADVENTURE. Then when we arrive back at the home base, because people will be coming in droves, and at there own pace, they recieve a ticket, and the following weekend have a success party, and draw #'s and have a celebratory lunch or cookout. And everyone can share stories, maybe something like VT to ME and back, or NY, something more than mundane. Any suggestions?? Or across the state Champlain to NH border??? New England has snow. lets take advantage

well b2b is roughly 300 miles (maybe a touch more). if you want to do 600 in a weekend, you're still looking at similar mileage per day, which isn't getting you much closer to leisure. if you reduced the scope to 400 miles (200/day) you'd be getting closer to your vision.

if this was done charity, i would think you could get reduced rate nh passes for the weekend. overall though, i think that if there's any size to the group at all, a free-for-all in lodging will be a clusterfuck. large groups need a simple, straight forward plan laid out to keep things operating smoothly. otherwise, you'll have a problem.

i bet tom could shed light on the idea?

what i mean by problem for hotels, is that not everyone can stay in the same town, and they will have to venture off the route to find either open lodging or locate their booked reservation. either way, getting ANY of them off the MARKED route, is a disaster waiting to happen. RIGHT DGREE!?!?! hah hah, hilarious weekend.
