If we get a few inches it will be ok to ride. A friend tried to ride last night and over heated .The reails are mostly covered but mostly hardpacked & icy. I do know that Chittenden is grooming today and it has started snowing very lightly 34 F. I was just up on Pico and it was cold and windy and loked like something was trying to move in.

Are the trails icy to the point of where studded tracks are practically REQUIRED in order to have a good ride?

I rode a little bit of 7 yesterday near Shewsbury...definately NOT a sheet of ice, but it is hard pack. Trails were flat and fast! This will be an excellent base for the season...now just need some fresh powder to go on top!
