Looking at models this morning, I see 2 (possible) events for NNE, one on thursday that SHOULD provide a somewhat wet packable snow to the northcountry, this stuff is needed to put some engine cooling snows down on the frozen hardpacked trails that we now have in the Kingdom. Looks like if the 'storm" will drop (according to GFS models) about 2-3 inches, (QPF about .40 but temps will only allow 6:1-8:1 ratios in the valleys) and maybe above 1200-1500 feet, you will see ratios at over 10:1, so 3-5 inches there. Moving on to Saturday, it becomes a bit tricky,..will it rain,...or will it snow>> or both,..lets hope its at least a mix, as the GFS is now showing Precip totals (QPF) at or near one inch on the high side, if this were to be all rain, it will be our nail in the coffin for a while,..BUT I think we should see somewhat of a mix, with more snow than rain especially in the NEK. Valleys down south might be screwed with this one, while Jay peak could get a foot. The way I see this one now, I thinks that at my camp in Lunenburg I might see a mix at first with rain in the afternoon, but just about 500-700 feet higher, like in Concord VT, it could be all or mostly snow, but then it should all go back to snow at the end of the storm to give everyone a grand total of MORE snow on the ground than we had at the start,...so this is good. Close call,...but its a better deal than last sundays 'Grinch storm". serbie out..........
Lets hope we get a few inches....... We have a decent base and 3/4 will make it rideable again.
