Looks like a storm for new years. Would be all snow and .50 - 1.0 in liquid. Keeping fingers crossed.

Well, it's the 4 panel GFS forecast model from Unisys.

Those are computer generated models and can be reall changeable. Just look for the bar codes at the bottom.They can change by the hour but the trend looks like we could get a few inches which will definately put us back in the game. Here in central VT it is really hardpacked ice that lends it self to overheating etc, the good news is the the base has been retained and just a few inches will give us the cooling snow .Keep praying.

So its North America, I marked where TX, FL, and Canada
4 panels
Top left is 850mb heights - so you look for cold air. The purple and blue is good.
Bottom left is precipitation amounts - green is good like .50 - .75 inches of liquid.
Top right is 300mb heights - looking for the jet stream/ jet streaks. Pretty strong jet for that storm.
Bottom right is relative humidity.

Now you can do forecasting! I check the models before checking the forecast. To see how I do compared to the NWS. I did go to school for this though.

That's goodstuff but I wish superman Gil was here to explain all that stuff.I guess I should have paid closer attention to a weather class I took in college.
