im with zmurph on this one. first of all half of you people probably never been to island pond which means you dont know who teddy is. he is the biggest dick ever and i refuse to goto island pond until he is gone. enough said

i dont know that anyone here isnt saying hes a dick and yeah some of the people who posted in this thread havent been to island pond im sure. but everyone here probably has experienced an asshole just like teddy because there are many of them out there. its a small town, he runs the place unfortunately. im sure it wont be long until he gets over thrown but someone ELSE has to be able to take his place in the eyes of the locals. good luck, i still dont think boycotting a town is going to work because there are 1203808423 other people that dont use HCS and still go to island pond because it is a nice place. i hope he gets taken out but its not likely until a good replacement is found like i said. there really isnt much else to say. there are alot of good points being thrown around in this thread.

i see what u r saying but island pond was my favorite riding area until he had to go fuck everything up. i do respect all signs and speed limits in town even more so because i no teddy is right around the corner. but the man will still give a ticket no matter what the issue. i just dont understand

Answer this ? honestly, has he ever given you a ticket? The problem here is that you " flatlanders" weren't around IP 30 yrs ago when the town was basically lawless. The men were tough and the women were tougher. Up until say 20 yrs ago most anything went in town. How many of you remember the Oz. Guys would get hammered and the town had to suffer for it? I know because I did my share of stupid shit in IP.

Maybe Teddy is suffering from Alzheimers disease and has forgotten the Hells Angels were driven out of IP 10+ years ago.If he was to grow some balls,he would tackle the underground marijuana trade that exists in and around the NEK.Can't tell how many of those logging roads lead you past major harvests in the summer.Weed flows out- of that area but,I bet he doesn't want to fuck with this group of people.........I could see a few sledders who really don't have a axe to grind and would like to stir the pot but when you have leaf-peekers writing in local papers about their gustapo type run-ins;you know a problem exists.When leaf peekers say they will not return.......that's BAD!

With all due respect 800, how does Teddy sitting on his fat ass, at the infamous intersection harrasing everyone from the elderly to young families supposedly rolling through a stop sign have any effect on crime in IP? Is he walking a beat in IP? I can understand what you are saying about the old lawless IP, but how does Teddy busting balls on the most ridiculous, petty, drummed up traffic violations effect anything in Island Pond, but to generate traffic ticket revenue for the town. He is an overzealous traffic cop, he does no real policing for the town of Island Pond! I don't know how you can make any excuses for this guy. We don't want the lawless Island Pond back either, but we also don't want our rights violated by an ego driven constable .

I heard Teddy gets a cut of all the marijuana sales for looking the other way, and writes tickets to make it look like he actually works.

This is a huge topic around the area. The locals actually started a Coalition against him and are gaining strength. The only problem is Teddy's a local, with a lot of local relatives in the area. Blood is always thicker than water. This spring should be a good tough race for constable. Personally I won't boycott any area cause of a person, I may try and avoid it but if I need something in IP I have no problem going there.

Well, I have nothing specific against IP. But I've heard about Teddy from some fellow motorcyclists. So, I'll go to Island Pond if I have to, but mostly I route around it.

As an example, we are planning a ride through the NEK into Quebec in May. I'm routing right around Island Pond (dirt roads), stopping instead in Burke or maybe Lyndonville for lunch.

Won't kill the Pond's economy, but with the poor winters of the last few years, every little bit of negative publicity has got to hurt.

You want to boycott someone?? Boycott Brighton Cheverlet & and now Brighton Motorsports and all their rental properties. ( the Goulet's, Ted's half brothers )They are the ones besides the old folks that really don't care about IP's econamy that vote Ted in year after year. I have lived in Island Pond all my life and seen it all. I know all the business owners in this town and they "DO NOT VOTE FOR TED". You are punishing the wrong people, they are hard working people trying to make a liveing raising families and trying to stay afloat. There is a commity for change that is trying to educate the people that vote him in and a canidate that is running againts him in March. We appreciate the fact that there are many good hard working people in IP trying to make a living and raise their families. That being said, there has been an ignorance from the general community to acknowledge the fact that their constable has been harrassing and fining tourists, flatlanders, sledders, etc, for years with no repercussion from the townspeople. After years of being abused by this town supported constable, people are starting to take their business and money elsewhere. We are very pleased to support the "community for change", but we are also sorry to see that it has taken our boycott, a few bad winters, and national negative press to spark this town uprising against Teddy. Teddy has cost the business owners of IP massive revenue in past years. Just think how much money a family of four from Ct or Ma would spend snowmobiling for a week in IP. Many of these same people are no longer using Island Pond as a destination. They would rather go to Derby, Burke, Newport, Lyndon or Jay and happily spend their thousands there than support a town that has never really supported them. I understand some locals don't want the flatlanders, but for business owners, they are a huge boost. Best of Luck in March of 08!

I SPENT ALMOST 300 A WEEKEND IN IP MY FRIENDS SOME SPEND MORE. THE BULLSHIT TRAIN BLOCKING THE TRAIL TRAP AND TEDDY MILLER THERE GOES ABOUT 1200 A WEEKEND FROM JUST THE 4 OF OUR GROUP. EVERYONE I TALK TO AROUND HERE WE JUST ARENT GOING BACK WE FOUND BETTER PLACES TO RIDE WITHOUT ALL THE BS.. WHEN HE IS GONE AND THE TRAIN TRAP ENDS WE WILL BE BACK BECAUSE IT IS A NICE LITTLE TOWN BUT NOT WITH MILLER THERE. SORRY IP!!!

he nailed us when riding back from the B2B a few years back, we needed gas AND food and not about to ride another 11 miles out of the way being as tired as we were.

Is Teddy catching people for speeding on snowmobiles? just wondering i do a fair ammount of riding in ip and have never herd anything about this.
