Full Version: 800 Tundra?

I am on another forum (Alaska Outdoor Forum) and there's a bunch of guys wondering about the 800 tundra. I know some are saying the 800 is a little more nose heavy than the 550F and it would make sense but with probably double the HP of the 550 fan, seems like it wouldn't be too much of a problem. The whole 800 in the tundra on the RF platform seems a little silly to me. Usually people who buy these type of utility sleds aren't going to go ripping around high-marking and whatnot, and just using them to haul gear, supplies, run their trapline, use them as kids machines, etc (at least in AK). On the other hand, an 800 tundra might make it more fun for the guy who only wants one sled that, kind of, "does it all" both play and work hard. Anyone have any experiences with these sleds and how the perform, power, handling, opinions versus 800's on other chassis'? Any and all info appreciated. Thanks

The 800 is a four stroke. Im not sure of the hp but its probably equal to the 550.

They made a Skandik with a 600SDI one year I think...
