I had the exact thing happen.
Just got it back from the dealer, it is the guage, they are going to warrentee it and give me a new one, I let them know that I knew from readind posts here that Poiaris had lots of problems with them, and I felt they should cover it, and they are. Un plug it right behind the secondary clutch as you will rack up miles as it sits there. Mine would peg at 120 MPH as soon as I started to move and it put on 340 miles in a few hours of riding I unplugged it and everything else was still fine.
Good luck

Oh yeah, this is a problem. My 06 600 HO trip odometer would reset and do whatever. Its all in the guage unit.

I took out my new '06 600 Fusion for the first time 2 weeks ago (put 50 miles on) when I first start it the speedo (in digital reading mode) hovers between 0 & 3 MPH while sitting still, after I ride it, it seems to work normal - reads 0 when sitting still. Is this the same deal? As time goes on will it get faster & faster while sitting still?

Thanks guys,
I am heading up in about an hour for 4 days of fun & excitement. I will keep an eye on the speedo and good to know it just may be the sensor, but it's under warranty so whatever the problem it should be covered.
