So I've had a little time now that things have quieted down at work, so I started playing with the GPS waypoint page we talked about. I created a form for submitting waypoints, and now I'm working on a retrival form. Take a look at the form and see if I need to add some waypoint categories. The site is a basic template for now, I will spruce it up later.

I tried to upload a file with most of the Essex and Orleans junctions. If it didn't work, let me know and I can email it.

It did upload fine. I changed it to accept .nav and .loc files. This is not ready for prime time remember, so don't expect miracles lol. I will need data to create the other part, the retreival though.

NICE WORK..I've been heckling VAST every year to release som of their data but they keep draggin their feet. I have a few Central Vt waypoints. Ive been using a garmin 60csx to map with. We'll have this whole state mapped by the time VAST gets their a_s in gear . Cheers.

So I did a little more work on this. The submission form is in pretty good shape. I just wrote some of the code to give you results for picking a county or counties to get waypoints. The data is basically fake, I used some of Bob's stuff just for numbers. I need to work on the code that will create the .gpx file when the waypoint is submitted. There's 2 fake ones in there for Essex (EX) and Orleans (OS).
Give the two forms a try. If you have a waypoint or 2 upload them with the form so I can see what's happening.
Other then that I will keep refining it.

Thank You, It will be a little while but I will give you what I got and now that I know we can get it done it is a good reason to ride where we have not. So far 77 waypoints, mostly in Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties. Still working on the bugs, but you can check it out again. Do a few requests to see what's in there so far. I will be doing some work on the looks of it shortly, since it's a bit "raw" right now. Thanks to Bob and Pink for the waypoints so far. I've added a few of my own as well.

I got the domain winterwaypoints.com, thought it was catchy.

I started working on using the Google Maps API to put the waypoints on Google Maps. It works very cool, I just need to automate the creation of the maps depending on what waypoints you select. Here's an example of CA110:
