I just picked the new Sb dragon on Sat. Drove it around the shop at the dealer a few times(wicked) Threw it on the trailer drove 15min home.
Got home put it in the garage.....Well after reading the Destruction book.....I went down weds to set the sag and see how much i was going to have to adjust the track.
And.... she was flat on the ground...Bottom'd out .I cant belive that the shock is blown already(and either can the dealer) But they said it bring
it on over.

Like i said 0.2 miles
Any one else has had an out of the box Failure of these new rear track shocks??

I racked it up and down a few times and and nothin'

Thanks guys,

Country
Nope, mine seems fine. Boy does that suck but better now than 5 miles down the trail. I had an oil leak on mine with 0.2 miles and had to take it back to the dealer so I know how you feel. But, I got to put 200 miles on mine last weekend and I would have to say that I like it more than my ProX2 that I loved.

Good luck. Hopefully that is the only issue you'll have with it.

Shocks don't support weight. Springs do. A blown shock would not be possible to detect unless you rode it. If it's "flat on the ground" you have broken spring(s).

Either that or you have your front skis up on dollies.
Front skis on dollies + track flat on ground = appearance of bottoming out with no actual problem. Remove dollies from under skis...problem fixed.

Fronts are not on dollies and i understand what springs and shocks do. How could you bust a set of springs running up and down a field twice?? But siting in the garage it is bottomed out. and i can pick it up and down with no resistance.
I looked over the springs and they dont look broke.. any ideas would be great.

Racey,

You talking about the "shock" issue??
racey
yes, mine looks like it too has a shock issue.

Sounds like what happens to my 06sb. It might not be the shock. on mine it it the front torque arm jamming up causing the weight to be shifted to the back. I took out the suspension to check it out. What I found was all the tabs welded to the torque arm for the limiter straps & shock had too much penitration causing lumps on the inside of the tube and worn spots on the shaft. If the torque arm rotated past the worn spots it would jam. Dealer didnt seem to think it was the problem because they couldn't replicate. I guess i'll have to bring it in when she's jammed. I suggest bringing it back as is let the dealer see it f*&ked not after you unjammed it.

Rodney,

My dealer told me the leak was from a split oil line at the oil pump but I plan to get out and check out the seal today

Yea....it's fine, mine that is.....Dumb ass me.... Racey go drive it around the yard a few time and hop off i'll bet it's fine...
When i "BACKED" it in the garage all the weight was transfered to the rear...so there she sat.
Well drove it around the yard a few times. What do ya know Bingo..yea its fine...
hope thats all it is for you too....

Thanks for the input guys...
Cars now i know what you meen with the dollies. i didnt have em, but it's the same principal..

If it is fine from just driving it there IS a problem and it should be addressed

How did you make out?? I dont have any miles on so I'm not passing any judgement untill i get some miles on.

Funny how 10grand will make you worry.........
ATTAK!
My 03 800 SKS went through 3 Ryde FX piggybacks before the dealer admitted the set up was incorrect form the rider weight. even after replacing the springs, the rear end is extrememly soft and bottoms easily. Never really got any resolution.

My sled was like this for the first year or so. Come to find out the limiter straps were sucked right down, and one had actually broken. I've learned quite a bit since then, thankfully. grinning-smiley-023.gif

My 04 Switchback suspension has pretty much disappeared a couple times out riding, only to bounce back like nothing happened. Also did this while sitting in the garage. BUT, when I have the front end up on the jacks and the rear end sitting on the floor the suspension seems to be bang on. Lower the front, and it seems to soften up again. Every thing looks fine but obviously something is wrong. Any ideas on this?? After reading these posts I'm thinking the torque arm??
